Human Rights

(I looked around to find neither splendor of cherry blossoms nor ablaze autumn leaves around the pond where gemmy smiles must be all around if in an appropriate season…)

Human Rights

(Le Droits de l'homme)

In Japan nowadays, one of main political arguments is the one related to fundamental human rights.

Even in Japan, low-teen school boys and girls are making and managing thousands of personal or secret Web sites, without under supervision of school or parents, where bullying and tease sometimes break out targeting some weak pupil.

The world of children and minors reflect manners of living of majors and situations of the society.

In a today’s newspaper in Japan, I found a report telling that a schoolgirl of a certain junior high school committed a suicide within school.

Perhaps, all over the world, children and young students should be compulsory educated on human rights and civil liberties, if authority in each country cannot correctly and completely present to, and provide for, pupils the teachings of Jesus Christ or God or Allah.

So, I’d like to introduce the Universal Declaration of Human Rights specified by the United Nations.

http://www.unhchr.ch/udhr/lang/eng.htm

---
Article 1
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Article 2
Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

Article 3
Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

Article 4
No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.

Article 5
No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

(The rest is temporarily omitted, though...)

Article 17
1. Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
2. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.
---

The imminent issue is whether these articles should apply to terrorists or insurgents.

The U.S. President has apparently denied the idea in his recent administrative decision on prisoners of the War on Terror.

Chinese Government has apparently denied the idea in its recent military operation against Buddhist monks and other ethnic Tibetans in its long-occupied Tibet.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7296837.stm

As Japan has long been the second largest financier to the U.N. next to the U.S., Japan has a right to remonstrate with the U.S. and China about their non-humanitarian decision and operation.

So we do it here now.

Treat captured and arrested terrorists humanely so as to make them repent; and respect Tibetans so as to allow them to gain complete independence from China controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

Finally, you know now how terrible it would be if the U.S. and China plot together for any conspiracy to establish and maintain their power of domination on weak people and tribes in the world.

That is why a Religious Revolution is needed in China and the U.S. to realize the ideal of Universal Declaration of Human Rights specified by the United Nations.

Luk 6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

Luk 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

Luk 6:41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Luk 6:42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

Luk 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Luk 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Lightly Come, Lightly Go as if Virtual

(Japan’s spring comes with yearly National Invitational High School Baseball Tournament)

Lightly Come, Lightly Go as if Virtual

(C'est comme la réalité virtuelle)

SECTION I: 100 Yen = 100 Cents??

One dollar was traded at 99 yen in London, last night.

Toyota reportedly announced to reduce its production of SUVs and pick-up trucks in its US plants, this morning.

The New York Times now reads:
---
Almost everything seems to be going wrong for the American economy at once…

On Thursday, the dollar plumbed new lows against the Japanese yen and several other major currencies; the price of an ounce of gold jumped above $1,000 for the first time; and lenders raised home loan rates once again.

---

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/14/business/14econ.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin

But, one Japanese blog on economy has reported on a stock price trend of Carlyle Capital with a remark that though Japan has now more than $1 trillion exchange reserve just like China has, those dollars accumulated at the rate of 115 yen per dollar have now 10% less value in terms of yen, meaning a 10 trillion yen ($100 billion) appraisal loss.

All I can say to you is that it is not an act of conspiracy by anybody. It must be one effect of Anger of the God or Allah.

Give dollars back to the U.S.; and give what you should give back to the God or Allah back to the God or Allah.

Your life was given by the God or Allah, so that sooner or later you have to give it back.

Yet, before you dispose yen, you had better read EEE Reporter.

SECTION II: Internet Driven Politician (1)

It is not only the trend of the global money market that the Internet and other high-speed telecommunications and high-power computation are accelerating and affecting.

Alarmingly, the Internet can leverage political momentum to any unwanted direction.

One well-known example is found in the rise and fall of the former South Korean President who was elected after the South Korean economy had got into serious recession to be rescued by IMF and Japan.

In 2002, young South Koreans who wanted economic reform and pride in their nation-state and dreamed of unification with North Korea started to use the Internet, e-mails, and other means based on cellular phones and PCs to disseminate an idea that a certain liberal ex-lawyer candidate could break through the wall between the North and the South, bringing about glory of the Korean race.

They succeeded in stirring up the boom for the ex-lawyer candidate as millions of messages were sprayed over the Internet.

But, the South Korean President could not effectively restore the Korean economy. Most of major banks in Korea were still under control of foreign capital. The President was about to completely lose his face and popularity, since his pro-North Korea policy did not work well, either.

Then, he started to desperately accuse Japan of its former occupation of the Korean Peninsula before WWII, which is always an easy policy to be a temporary hero among South Koreans.

It is as if he had not done anything but accuse Japan of its former occupation of the Korean Peninsula before WWII, namely more than 65 years ago, in the latter half of his tenure of Korean presidency.

Nonetheless, some pro-North Korea citizens in South Korea and some anti-Japanese citizens in the U.S. really welcomed this behavior of the South Korean President.

But, his overall popularity among the general public in South Korea plummeted down, which could not be compensated by his official visit to North Korea carried out several months before the end of his tenure of South Korean Presidency.

SECTION III: Internet Driven Politician (2)

If you are familiar with Japan, you must know the one specific name of a politician: Lower House Member of Japan Mr. Koichi Kato.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koichi_Kato_%28LDP%29
---
Upon the sudden illness and death of Keizo Obuchi in May 2000, Kato did not make a leadership challenge, believing that internal strife would not be healthy for a party in mourning. By November, however, displeased with the slow pace of reform and poor public image in the Mori administration, Kato made his move…

Unfortunately for Kato, the LDP Secretary-General at this time, Hiromu Nonaka, was a strong supporter of Mori. Nonaka launched a harsh round of party discipline, threatening to expel any LDP members that voted against Mori…

The damage had been done, however. Kato and Yamasaki were left to bear the full brunt of public humiliation. The aftermath of Kato's rebellion was disastrous. A large segment of his faction split off, weakening his influence in the Diet. Public opinion that had initially supported ousting Mori now blamed Kato for his failure…

---

Mr. Koichi Kato, an ex-diplomat, was once regarded as an elite politician who was promised to be elected as the Prime Minister of Japan sooner or later before 2001.

But, he launched an unthinkably poor insurgency to his party, trying to get premiership in vein in late 2000 (since then Prime Minister Mr. Yoshiro Mori was unthinkably unpopular with his classically patriotic stance).

Eventually Mr. Kato lost not only the political battle, but also his political allies, his power base in the party, LDP, and reputation as an elite politician in the public.

Many people wondered then and are still wondering why he could not wait for months or so until the legitimate party conference was held in 2001 to elect the new LDP leader who could become the Prime Minister of Japan (due to LDP’s majority in the Lower House) where he was highly expected to be named so.

I was also wondering who had instigated him to objectively impossible insurgence but subjectively (probably) slam-dunk insurgence in the Liberal Democratic Party in November 2000.

It is former very influential lawmaker Mr. Hiromu Nonaka that has given a clue to this mystery in his memoir published after Mr. Nonaka left the Japanese Congress (the Diet) in 2003 through a fierce fight against then Prime Minister Jyunichiro Koizumi:

( http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E8%80%81%E5%85%B5%E3%81%AF%E6%AD%BB%E3%81%AA%E3%81%9A-%E9%87%8E%E4%B8%AD%E5%BA%83%E5%8B%99%E5%85%A8%E5%9B%9E%E9%A1%A7%E9%8C%B2-%E9%87%8E%E4%B8%AD-%E5%BA%83%E5%8B%99/dp/4163656405 )

Mr. Hiromu Nonaka, a self-made politician in contrast with Mr. Kato's career, wrote that it was the Internet that had driven Mr. Koichi Kato to a desperate challenge against the then party leaders in late 2000.

Mr. Kato then received many e-mails loudly supporting him and asking him to replace then Prime Minister Mr. Yoshiro Mori, the top leader of the faction where Mr. Jyunichiro Koizumi, Mr. Shinzo Abe, and Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, who all became the Prime Minister of Japan later, belonged.

Mr. Kato, himself the top leader of other faction in LDP, started to actively operate his homepage on the Internet where he found many online messages earnestly expressing a hope that Mr. Kato became the Prime Minister of Japan as soon as possible.

The Japanese Media also paid strong notice to the boom on the Internet pushing Mr. Kato to the challenge, thus joining it a little frivolously. Then, there was none to stop Mr. Koichi Kato to take a shot at then Prime Minister Mr. Yoshiro Mori and then LDP Secretary-General Mr. Hiromu Nonaka, one of the leaders of other influential faction.

However, Mr. Koichi Kato could not get wider support from a majority of LDP members and the general public; he finally failed in forcing Prime Minister Mr. Yoshiro Mori to srep down, thus losing his face, his political status, and a possibility to become the Prime Minister of Japan forever, which however paved the way for Mr. Jyunichiro Koizumi’s accession to premiership in April 2001.

In this way, the Internet once messed up and ruined the career of prominent Japanese politician Mr. Koichi Kato, though he has come back and currently keeps his seat in the Japanese Congress enjoying renewed respect widely as a very experienced liberal lawmaker.

(Now you know in what state Japan was just before the era of the War on Terror in which the strength of alliance between Japan and the U.S. has been demonstrated globally, at least from a certain point of view, since Mr. Jyunichiro Koizumi has been a very pro-U.S. conservative.)

SECTION IV: US Presidential Election in 2008

If this trend in the global money market is not taken into account by US voters, it may not be good to the rest of the world.

If the power of the Internet becomes the most decisive factor in 2008 US Presidential Election, it may not be good to the rest of the world.

(Politicians often act like an actor or an actress.

An actor or an actress also plays a role of a politician depending on his or her assignment.

But, one’s true vocation for an actor or politician might consist in very different features.

Can you, Mlles., play a role of a woman following the Messiah most politicians would not rather succumb to even if you find this world to be a political stage?)

Walls and the Earth Can Fall

(Advancing to spring, Japan)

Walls and the Earth Can Fall

(Les murs et le sol peuvent tomber)

SECTION I: MIRACLES

Once far before the birth of Jesus Christ, Caesar, and Alexander the Great, when ancient Israelites surrounded walls of a city of their enemy, they could destroy the walls just marching around them for days, which became a miracle to prove that ancient Israelites were the people of God.

Jesus Christ told his disciples that though they were amazed at the splendor of the great wall of the great temple all the stones would fall to the ground, which became a prophet that lasted through the fall of Jerusalem in the first century, the construction of the Dome of the Rock in the seventh century, and probably to the fall of the World Trade Center in 2001.

I humbly raised my left arm to the dried-out paddy field the other day and let it down; then I got a news report: The ground above an abandoned coal mine in the Hokkaido Island, where the G8 Summit is to be held this year, fell in with a thundering sound.

http://www.hokkaido-np.co.jp/news/society/80948.html

Japan had many live coal mines. Japanese modernization and industrialization that had started 140 years ago was mainly supported by a sufficient amount of domestic coal production till 1960’s over WWII, like the case of England, though few foreign economists and pundits know this crucial fact about Japan.

SECTION II: ISRAELITES DENIED

It is very suggestive that nowadays authoritative Israelites sometimes deny identification of other helpless Israelites as reported in a New York Times report titled “How Do You Prove You’re a Jew?”

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/02/magazine/02jewishness-t.html?scp=3&sq=orthodox+Jews&st=nyt

---
…The Israeli government seeks the political and financial support of American Jewry. It welcomes American Jewish immigrants. Yet the rabbinate, one arm of the state, increasingly treats American Jews as doubtful cases: not Jewish until proved so…
---

They set very high criteria for an immigrating Israelite to prove himself or herself to be a true Israelite so as to be officially admitted by the state of Israel.

I am strongly against this practice exercised on foreign-born Israelites by privileged Israelites living in Israel.

If somebody is fleeing to Israel from a country occupied by another Nazis, his or her admission to Israel could be simply denied due to insufficient proofs about his or her identification as an Israelite.

It is against the lesson having been learnt during WWII.

Ultimately, if the God says to somebody that he or she is a member of Israelites, he or she is an Israelite, since it is God who chose Abraham as His people.

And, if Israelites in Israel continue to behave like enemies of God or Allah, I suppose they will not look like descendants of Abraham at all to the eyes of God.

Personally, I like Israelites to look like Arabs as Abraham must have looked, though Israelites nowadays strangely look like descendants of citizens of the Roman Empire.

SECTION III: AMERICAN BISON

Americans and Australians must first check the following piece of news:
---
THE ASAHI SHIMBUN
LONDON--The International Whaling Commission (IWC) issued a unanimous statement here Saturday condemning the U.S. anti-whaling group Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

It referred to the group hurling bottles at a Japanese research-whaling vessel in Antarctic waters last week, injuring three people.

The IWC was meeting to prepare for its annual conference in Santiago, Chile, in June.(IHT/Asahi: March 10,2008)

http://www.asahi.com/english/Herald-asahi/TKY200803100047.html

Then we can refer to other information presented by The New York Times:
---
An estimated 40 million to 70 million bison roamed North America before 1800. By 1900 fewer than 1,000 remained. Of those animals, 25 were in Yellowstone National Park, protected from poachers by the Army, and another 250 were in Wood Buffalo National Park in Canada. The rest belonged to five ranchers, who had collected bison to preserve the species and to crossbreed with cattle in hope of creating a more hardy animal.

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B05E0D9163FF930A15757C0A9649C8B63&scp=1&sq=Bison+are+many&st=nyt
---

It is said that among 300,000 bison alive in the U.S. today, only 10,000 or so are pure and authentic bison as estimated by a result of DNA analysis.

Israelites and Americans should learn some lessons here before they turn unfriendly eyes to whale-meat-loving Japanese.

(I am thankful for those concerned with IWC if they ever read the EEE Reporter article on March 10, 2008.)
* * *

So now you know why I have been engaged in this mission: EEE Reporter.

Indeed it is not to destroy walls surrounding any city or temple.

However, it might happen to destroy part of the ground, since I do not like the expression “Ground Zero” which had long meant the hypocenter in Hiroshima and Nagasaki until the 9/11 Terror.

Though you may dismiss these of my remarks with laugh, Mr. Osama bin Laden, too, abused and leveraged the concept of “the ground zero in Hiroshima and Nagasaki” in his address to recall brutality transferred from the ancient Romans to some of the contemporary Europeans and European Americans.

Indeed, if some Israelites continue to treat so badly other Israelites and Americans continue to play with the word “Ground Zero” and accuse Japan of its whaling tradition, the G8 Summit had better be hosted outside Japan just like this year’s Summer Olympic Games be outside China (due to so much contamination even harming Japanese consumers), since walls can collapse and the ground can cave in for believers.

[By way of caution, EEE Reporter never overlooks or condones any terror attempt against the G8 Summit in Japan and the Olympic Games in China.]

(Last night, a late-night TV news program in Japan presented a speculation that former US President Mr. George H. W. Bush visiting South Korea presently might make a side trip to North Korea.

If “Hillary,” “John McCain,” or “Obama” flies to Pyongyang and succeeds in persuading the North Korean leaders to give up their policies on nuclear weapons and Japanese abductees, I suppose the God will give them an honor more splendor than being elected as US President in 2008.

All they have to say to North Koreans is that Japan based on the Peace Constitution can be a better ally of North Korea than China based on armed communist revolution has been.)

Who, God Reporter?

(Where Two Rivers Meet, Japan)

Who, God Reporter?

(Le reporter pour le Dieu)

SECTION I: Google Web Search

I simply typed “God Reporter of Japan” in a search-key field of Google Web Search.

Then, “EEE Reporter” was returned at the second position among 505,000 candidate Web sites.

The first one is, as you can verify easily, the following:
“Amazon.com: God Has Ninety-Nine Names: A Reporter's Journey Through a..”

SECTION II: “God Has Ninety-Nine Names”

I have not bought or read this book: “God Has Ninety-Nine Names: A Reporter's Journey Through a Militant Middle East” (Hardcover) by Ms. Judith Miller.

But, as it looks like having been published in 1996, it seems to have its value as a report on the Middle East before the era from the Death of Princess Diana with an Egyptian through AlQaeda’s Terror to the present-day situations in the Islamic World.

But, most importantly, one comment on this book was posted on September 5, 2001, just a week before the 9/11 Terror on New York and Washington D.C.

Therefore I felt like paying a special attention to this comment on the book.

SECTION III: “Flawed but still good”

The reader of the book “God Has Ninety-Nine Names” wrote:
---
I do not share the British author's severity of judgement. "God has ninety-nine names" is, before anything, a series of photographs in words. The reader will not get the depth that a profound analysis of the region should have, but we are trading the scholarly insights of a historian (and Miller is not a historian) for the immediacy of a reporter.
---

http://www.amazon.com/God-Has-Ninety-Nine-Names-Reporters/dp/0684809737

That is nice. You should not respect words of British colonists anyway. Rather, we can evaluate the level of commonsense of the writer and the reader in the following context:
---
The Middle East then appears as a dangerous place where secular and not-so-secular governments, some allied to the West, some its declared enemies, fight mostly vicious little wars against the religious militants who want to overthrow them and impose Shari'a throughout the Islamic world.

The level of nastiness seems to have gone down, curiously, in Iran, where Shari'a is supposed to be working since the Shah left.

Miller writes chapters on ten countries, including Sudan, Egypt, Israel, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. That the only country in the region where fundamentalists can participate politically as opposition, elect mayors, and run their show mostly as they see fit, is Israel, should not surprise anyone.

That as soon as they acquire power (as in Sudan and Iran) fundamentalists make it practically impossible for others to be critical, except in open rebellion, should not be a surprise, either.

---

That is also nice to confirm the meaning of the lack of democracy in this modern era if in the Islamic regions.

But, a week after the reader posted his comment, the four US commercial jet planes were hijacked by AlQaeda and the 9/11 Terror was conducted in the sky over the East.

SECTION IV: Mike’s Blog

US Congressman Mr. Mike Pence recently reported on his inspection tour to Iraq and Afghanistan:
---
…We arrived at the remote mountain compound of the president of the Kurdish Region of Northern Iraq.

I told President Barzani of my longstanding admiration for his people, given how difficult a trial they endured under Saddam Hussein. The president seemed most moved when I mentioned our nation's enduring sadness at the tragedy visited upon his people in the chemical attack on the city of Halabja by Saddam Hussein in 1988…

His eyes narrowed and he nodded slowly as I spoke of the justice that will be served on Ali Hassan al-Majid, better known as "Chemical Ali". Hours before we arrived, it was announced that the man who organized that attack on defenseless Kurds would be executed before the end of the month.

When I asked him why Iraqi Kurdistan had been almost entirely free of insurgent or Al Qaeda violence, he responded, "the culture is the difference.” He alluded to a long tradition among Kurdish people of respecting religious and ethnic differences…

---

http://penceblog.rcsinteractive.com/2008/03/pence-blog-return-to-iraq-and.html

It showed a typical exchange of words between an American with power and a local leader under hegemony of the U.S. military.

An enemy of another enemy might be a quasi-friend. But, it is not a true friend to tell any truth to.

A US Congressman should have rather frankly said: “We have rescued your tribe by suppressing, driving out, and defeating your longtime enemies, Arabs with weapons including AlQaeda. How much are you thankful to us?”

Then, a Kurdish leader might piously say, “Great is Allah!”

But, Mr. Mike Pence presented interesting information, too:
---
As we overflew Baghdad, I was again struck by the sheer dimensions of this city of 6 million. Despite its immense population, Baghdad contains very few buildings taller than 10 stories. The streets below us were teeming with everyday life, foot traffic and cars. This weekend, Baghdad plays host to a soccer tournament. Despite the ravages of decades of repression and war, thanks to the sacrifices of American and Iraqi soldiers, this city is coming back…

Our morning began in Kabul, Afghanistan, with a military briefing on the state of the conflict in Afghanistan. The terrorist groups, Taliban and Al Qaeda, have been attempting a comeback in Afghanistan and this spring could prove to be some of the toughest fighting in this country in some time. But our military will not be caught off guard. The majority of terrorist activity in Afghanistan is taking place in roughly ten percent of the country. Our military and our NATO allies are aware of this and are already focusing resources and tactics in these areas…

---

Now, you know the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan are yet to recover to the ones in the best days before the Iran-Iraq War and the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan around 1980.

And, none seems to believe that they can arrest Mr. Osama bin Laden in any future.

Or, no unarmed American tourists are yet expected to stroll along the Mesopotamia ruins to enjoy seeing relics of the birthplace of Abraham.

Anyway, a nice report, Mr. Congressman.

(I don’t think it is a good idea, “President Hillary” and “Vice President Obama,” either.

But, I support the idea, “President Hillary” and “Vice President Caroline Kennedy.”

And, you can also introduce a Temporary US King for Mr. Ralph Nader.

In addition, you can establish the Department of Media for Mr. Michael Moore.

But, please do not invite Mrs. Margaret Thatcher from England for any new post such as US Ambassador to Paris…)

"I would believe what she said"

"I would believe what she said" [if not insane...]

("Je crois que ce qu'elle a dit")

SECTION I: Benazir Bhutto

I sensed something akin to an acute concern close to a pain, if not sincere remorse, in a picture of Secretary of State Ms. Rice being seated on an uncomfortable chair, signing the book of condolences for late Benazir Bhutto, in a posture hardened up.

So, you can hear the interview with Benazir Bhutto by an old British journalist associated with BBC and Al Jazeera conducted on Nov. 2, 2007.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_7070000/newsid_7075800/7075843.stm?bw=nb&mp=wm&news=1&nol_storyid=7075843&bbcws=1

Then you would wonder as she said, "...Omar Sheikh who murdered Osama Bin Laden..."

But, BBC would not present this video as it is, which caused some criticism:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theeditors/2008/01/post_8.html

And you will find two interesting comments in the BBC site:

Benazir Bhutto was not some conspiracy nutcase that you could ignore, infact in her position of power and integrity I would believe what she said over anything the BBC reports on Bin Laden.

You got busted pure and simple.

I have totally lost all faith in the BBC,you should be ashamed to call yourself a journalist.

---

SECTION II: "Osama bin Laden"

Benazir Bhutto mentioned the son of Mr. Osama bin Laden believed to be hiding in Afghanistan or Pakistan in her interview.

Benazir Bhutto also mentioned a certain terrorist who killed British tourists and American tourists, pointing at the exact number of those victims in each nationality.

So, it could have been a big news that Benazir Bhutto said on Nov. 2, 2007: "…Omar Sheikh who murdered Osama Bin Laden..."

But, as you know, the mainstream media and the governments in the world have ignored her words delivered in a certain context related to her own security, as if she had spoken something meaningless with minor confusion while being interviewed by "Sir David Frost for the al-Jazeera channel" though she was a Muslim.

SECTION III: A Permanent Stay of US Military in Iraq

Will US voters and taxpayers support the idea, the building of permanent US military base in Iraq?
---
By Rep. Ms. Barbara Lee

…While Negroponte denied that the Bush administration is seeking a permanent military presence as part of recent administration discussions about a SOFA with Iraq, just last November President Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Maliki entered into a Declaration of Principles, which cites ‘security assurances and commitments’, without the approval of Congress.

…The Bush administration cannot unilaterally establish a long term military presence in Iraq, tying the hands of future presidents, without Congressional approval.

This resolution is intended to hold President Bush accountable to the bills he has signed into law that include provisions prohibiting permanent military bases in Iraq. I will work with my colleagues to generate support to push this resolution through Congress.

http://blog.thehill.com/2008/03/07/my-resolution-opposes-bushs-secret-deal-rep-barbara-lee/#more-5550
---

I wonder how the Iraqi people were thinking about Mr. Osama bin Laden.

It is because it was not Saddam Hussein who had triggered the US invasion of Iraq but Mr. Osama bin Laden.

Without the 9/11 Terror in 2001, there should be no present-day Iraqi situations.

Don't they want to pursue Mr. Osama bin Laden for any accounts or reasons?

And, as for US troops, aren't they feeling strange that they are doing hard work in Iraq while Mr. Osama bin Laden is believed to be in the border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan or just inside Pakistan?

Indeed, people concerned seem to be working as if Mr. Osama bin Laden had nothing to do with their business in Iraq from the beginning.

SECTION IV: Singing President

US President Mr. George W. Bush reportedly recently sang on his future happy retirement in a party held in Washington D.C.

"Mr. Osama bin Laden" might become a thing of the past in the mind of the US President.
* * *

The first agenda for the next US President (yet to be) should be “Mr. Osama bin Laden” as it should be for the incumbent President.

Otherwise, history might be written in future with a remark that "…since then very strangely Mr. Osama bin Laden has never surfaced forever without being arrested by the United States full of wealth, troops, weapons, secret agents, and Nobel Prize winners…"

(The "3 a.m. call" issue is very important, since such a thing would usually happen when nobody expects it, though many expect it at 3 a.m. nowadays.

But, who among US officials would feel proud getting always prepared for such emergency on behalf of “President Hillary” or “President Obama?”

But, we should be on behalf of Jesus Christ until He comes as the second Messiah.)

THE ASAHI SHIMBUN
In the second attack in a week, activists aboard the anti-whaling vessel of the Sea Shepherd group hurled bottles and packets of white powder at the Nisshin Maru research whaling ship in Antarctic waters Friday.

The bottles were filled with chemicals, officials said.

Japan Coast Guard members aboard the Nisshin Maru issued radio warnings before responding with seven flash grenades, one of which landed on the deck of the Sea Shepherd's vessel.

No one was injured, Japanese Fisheries Agency officials said.

But a Sea Shepherd member said one activist was slightly injured.

On Monday, activists of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a U.S. anti-whaling group, hurled similar objects at the 8,044-ton Nisshin Maru, slightly injuring a crew member and two Japan Coast Guard members.

"It cannot be forgiven that they try to injure humans in order to protect whales," Chief Cabinet Secretary Nobutaka Machimura said Friday. "As a government, we must take necessary measures. We could fire tear-gas bombs if necessary."

The Nisshin Maru is the mother ship of a fleet of research whaling vessels operated by the Tokyo-based Institute of Cetacean Research, a body authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to conduct whaling-related research.(IHT/Asahi: March 8,2008)

BBC online presents some information on whaling:

WHALE FACTS
The IWC moratorium on whale hunting was established in 1986. Since then Norway and Japan have continued to hunt whales.

- Greenpeace estimate that more than 1.5 million whales were killed between 1925, when the first whaling factory ship was introduced, and 1975.

- In 1994 the IWC established a whale sanctuary which permanently banned whaling in the waters around Antarctica.

- The United States lists nine species of whales as endangered.

However, it is very insufficient and biased, since it lacks the following information:
(1) In late 1970’s, anti-whaling scientist Sidney J. Holt estimated the number of minke whales in the Antarctic Ocean to be just 20,000. However, the International Decade of Cetacean Research conducted by IWC since 1974 found that there were 300,000 minke whales; thus a scientific committee of IWC concluded that there was no need to ban the capturing of minke whales in the Antarctic Ocean.

(2) When US Secretary of Commerce Mr. Norman Mineta visited Japan in January 2001, the Japanese Government told him that National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the U.S. presented on its Web site the estimated number of sperm whales to be between a million and two million (which is large enough to allow for whaling). But, the next day of this official meeting, this information was deleted from the US Web site.

“Yankee” or American whaling began about the same time that colonists began to settle in America in the 1600s…

The peak year for American whaling activity was 1846, when 736 vessels and 70,000 people were engaged in the industry. In terms of production, however, sperm oil peaked in 1843, at 19,910,000 liters (5,260,000 gallons), whale oil at 43,884,000 liters (11,593,000 gallons) in 1845, and whalebone at 2,564,000 kg (5,652,000 lb) in 1853.

A gradual decline in whaling activity, which began in 1847, was hastened by the reduction in the numbers of whales of many species, including right whales, gray whales, and humpback whales. This reduction was due to significant overhunting. The decline was also hastened by the introduction of kerosene as a cheap illuminating fuel, the sinking of numerous whaling vessels by Confederate commerce raiders during the American Civil War (1861-1865), and two disasters that destroyed nearly 50 vessels in the Arctic Ocean. The last American whaling vessel sailed in 1928…

n 1931 the 41 factory ships operating in the Antarctic took more than 37,000 whales. This overharvesting led to a catastrophic decline in the price of whale oil. By 1939 the primary whaling nations included Norway, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and The Netherlands. In the early 20th century more than 2 million whales were killed by the modern whaling industry…

The IWC Scientific Committee has stressed that while properly regulated hunting would not represent a threat to the survival of whale populations, other issues must be addressed. These include the by-catch of cetaceans in fishing gear and a number of habitat-related factors, including pollution and habitat degradation, which affect all species, including those for which catch limits would be set to zero given their low abundance.

Before starting to import and consume a large quantity of beef from the U.S. and Australia, Japanese people traditionally ate meat of whales.

In contrast, US whaling was just aimed at getting whale blubber for use of industrial oil; they dumped meat of a whale to the sea after having taken whale oil.

Generally speaking, cattle look more intelligent than whales; it is truly horrible to kill such an animal, namely a cow with a level of intelligence of a dog and a cat, just for human consumption if you don’t eat a dog or a cat.

A whale returned to the sea from the land tens of millions of years ago to have a shape, which was completed 19 million years ago, as we see today.

Or, you had better think that any cow for beef is as intelligent as a whale for meat.

You should not kill a cow, since Jesus Christ never ate beef though He ate fish often.

Last night, a Japanese news show program presented a video showing a young Australian activist, though dressed decently, approaching the Japanese Ambassador to Australia at night and speaking to the Ambassador: “Sir, may I kill you for research as you kill whales for research?”

The young European Australian looked like believing himself that he was acting like a man and a hero, though he looked extremely foolish to million TV audiences in Japan, last night.

The New York Times should also take full background research when mentioning this sort of thing.

(Have you ever taken meat of whale flesh?

Apparently, it is more decent than beef, in my opinion.

It will take millions of years more for mankind, except Japanese and other people called Aborigines by biased European races, to really appreciate its taste and quality.

Indeed, great taste cannot be appreciated so easily just like great beautiful of the mind and heart.)
