FINALLY THE RACIAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

(Around the government office quarter adjacent to the Diet Building, Tokyo)

FINALLY THE RACIAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

(I don't think, dear, that it is Joe the Plumber and the like that could take a historic role in electing the first African American President; but it must be comparatively rich some European Americans who account for 2.5% of expected actual voters and who would put a higher priority on other social or personal concerns above the racial issue.

In this context, my dear, it will be finally the racial Presidential Election in the minds of those comparatively rich European Americans one of whom you might be so naturally if in the U.S.)

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, told us not to judge a person based on his outlook.

Indeed, Mr. McCain might be “black” inside, and Mr. Obama might be “white” inside.

Or, imagine that Mr. McCain is an African American and Mr. Obama is a European American; then see how American voters change their choice for the next President.

Is the racial issue more important than policies each candidate is committed to?

According to a survey conducted in the U.S. in 1988, those who answered that America was not split into the two spheres of "the have and the have-not" accounted for 71% and those who admitted the separation accounted for 26%.

According to a survey conducted in the U.S. in 2007, those who answered that America was not split into the two spheres of "the have and the have-not" accounted for 48% and those who admitted the separation accounted for 48%.

American citizens who regarded themselves as members of “the have” accounted for about 60% of all in 1988; but the ratio dropped to 45% in 2007.

As the population of African Americans occupy only 12% or so of the total population and the 15% change could be part of the widening gap between the have and the have-not as indicated by the above 23% change, almost one fourth of European American families look like getting actually poorer in these 20 years.

Then, if European American voters have a share of 70% of all the actual voters, the support-base among European Americans for Mr. McCain decreases to 52.5% (70 – 70*0.25 = 52.5), if measured with a focus on racial preference.

If more than 2.5% of this remained support-base among European Americans for Mr. McCain put more weight on non-racial issues, such as the Wall Street debacle, Mr. McCain would lose a majority of the total voters in this analysis.

Put simply, if 2.5% of “the have” among European Americans who has no reasons for voting for Ms. Obama due to their financial conditions, nonetheless, opt for Mr. Obama for some other causes, there is no chance for Mr. McCain to be elected as the next U.S. President.

And, as there are many Democratic European Americans, such as the Clintons, who would usually vote for a Democratic candidate, the above perspective is very likely.

Conversely, the chance for Mr. McCain to win the election seems to solely depend on how much European Americans will welcome, and be proud of having, an African American President.

Finally and very ironically, it is the very racial factor that will decide the final outcome of the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election.

And, specifically, how the factor works among that rich 2.5% European Americans must hold a key.

*************************************************************

However, as I once wrote, it is President Mr. George W. Bush that has actually helped Mr. Obama get such a surge of credit and respect.

Mr. Powell and Ms. Rice have proved that elite African Americans can do any higher official job as well as elite European Americans.

If European Americans can conquer this barrier of the racial issue today, we have to give credit to President Mr. Bush.

Yet, The Washington Post reads even in its endorsement to Mr. Obama:
"ANY PRESIDENTIAL vote is a gamble, and Mr. Obama’s resume is undoubtedly thin."

From a Japan’s standpoint, it is truly outrageous to put Japan’s national security into the hands of a U.S. President who only wins a gamble to be U.S. President without rich past records.

As a Japanese, I have to claim so, whether the next U.S. President is African American or European American, which means Mr. Obama may have to face another challenge since some non-nonsense Japanese with a chivalrous spirit, if not samurai moral philosophy, seem to check EEE Reporter sometimes.

JESUS’ ECONOMICS AGAIN

(Picked up a nut on a lane leading to Japan's Capitol the Diet Building, Tokyo)

JESUS’ ECONOMICS AGAIN

Jesus, our Lord, once said that we had to pay absolutely equally wages to workers.

Pay a worker who has been working from the morning, say, 100 dollars.
Pay a worker who has been working from the noon, say, 100 dollars.
Pay a worker who has been working from the afternoon, say, 100 dollars.
Pay a worker who has been working from a minute before the end of the day, say, 100 dollars.

Jesus, our Lord, asserted virtually that this was the right thing to do.

How you can interpret this His teaching decides how much potential you have to be a non-nonsense economist.

Pay and wages must be for a worker himself but not for his hours in duty, his performance, or his work behavior. An employer has to pay his employees equally without any conditions but the status of being his employee.

More specifically, every business must be an act of charity or benevolence based on love of employer’s neighbors, though it sounds so absurd like a joke of a Pope, if I may say so.

However, this is highly concerned with the labor theory of value Karl Marx discovered.

Put simply, Karl Marx discovered that an employer can obtain additional profits if a worker has produced products more than expected beforehand based on his salary or wages.

Actually an employer would pay a worker who has been working from the morning, say, 100 dollars, while he has produced 200-dollar-worth of products.

And, a bad employer would not even pay anything to a worker who was late for work if he has worked until closing time of the day.

Karl Marx extended and built his theory based on admission of this greedy behavior of an employer.

But, our Lord Jesus Christ from the beginning told us to change this behavior.

Therefore, no economic theories other than those following this teaching of Jesus Christ have any value to adopt and implement.

Karl Marx must have contributed to wider application of Jesus’ Economics to the modern European society instead of having tried to destroy the modern Christian society based on his philosophy reinforced by the labor theory of value he had discovered.

************************************************

It is said that Mr. John McCain did not understand economy.

Nobody knows what economic theory is relatively more effective or absolutely correct.

It is because every economic theory was concocted by an economist or a professor who cannot understand the great and powerful implication of Jesus’ teachings.

If an economist or a professor is just pleased to discover how economy is working to make the poor poorer and the rich richer, his discovery will be further abused by the super rich to make themselves richer.

All I can say is not to trust economists or professors unless they believe only Jesus’ Economics.

************************************************

Now the invention of this week to be applied for official patent is made public here in advance for your benefit:

As you see, it will endlessly repeat the reciprocating motion which can be turned into the power to rotate a turbine to generate electric power.

That is all for today.

What goes up must come down, but love never changes into evil.

Yet, the God is so almighty that He can perform anything beyond man’s comprehension.

(Just for the sake of the music presented in the site, since you must find many French-origin words in English:

Mar 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

Mar 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Mar 10:19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT AMERICA

WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT AMERICA

When a French elite bureaucrat who had thought America could not be so great travelled the self-designated superpower and observed various places and things there in the late 20th century, he found that America was vast and vaster than he had previously thought.

So, he admitted that America was as great as the whole West Europe.

When a French female professor was offered a chance to teach American students her specialized subject in the early 21st century, she was reluctant to accept the invitation and travel to the U.S. She thought that American students could not understand European philosophy and literature; yet she eventually flew over the Atlantic following encouragement from her friends.

Then, she found that American students had a strong interest in European philosophy and literature, asking her various questions very appropriate and insightful.

Before Japan suffered the economic slump in 1990’s, Japanese companies overwhelmed American rivals in various fields. Japan money invaded Los Angeles and New York, somehow alerting both ordinary Americans and elite Americans. But, there were some Japanese observing the fundamentals of the American society, including the vast land, rich natural resources, great agricultural potential, and abundant labor forces and consumers, found that America had strong underlying power to be reckoned with.

Eventually, since 1995 with the advent of Windows 95 OS and the wider use of the Internet, the U.S. started to launch its economy onto an orbit higher than those of any other countries, including Japan, by leveraging the IT boom which swiftly penetrated into Wall Street.

Now the Dow Jones Industrial Average has dropped to 8,500 dollar level.

American homeless population is on an increasing trend with new entrants from the middle class.

Mr. Barack Obama is arguing that America should not borrow $700 billion from China and give it to Saudi Arabia in exchange of oil (so that America should not rely on foreign oil).

Yet, some Japanese think as a matter of course that America has still strong underlying power to be reckoned with.

But, more Japanese have come to think that American hegemony in the era of the global economy is coming to an end.

*************************************************

The true point at issue today is not a tax issue as being discussed by Mr. John McCain and Mr. Obama.

The true point at issue today is the underlying power the U.S. has.

That power includes an insight into European civilization and an ability to make the best use of American resources.

If the debacle in Wall Street symbolizes the limit of European civilization and American resources, the U.S. cannot, however, lead mankind as the sole superpower anymore.

The most significant meaning of the on-going financial crisis in the U.S. lies here.

American ability is indeed called into question in this context.

In this context, again, Japan will have to take a more important role globally and against the U.S., though in a manner very intangible or beyond understanding of European elite, European professors, American students, or even ordinary Japanese businessmen.

Anyway, listen to Japan; read EEE Reporter.

(It is said that you will really feel the great underlying potential of the American society when sailing a gorgeous yacht along the coast line of Florida or California. But I don’t think that Jesus Christ is on board of one of millions of boats and yachts playing around American coasts.

Nonetheless I love such a piece of American music as you do, Mdlles.

Mar 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Mar 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

Mar 10:16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

The 2008 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences

(Around Japan's Capitol the Diet Building)

The 2008 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences

There are some interesting articles on the Internet about Mr. Paul Krugman who has won the 2008 Nobel Prize for economics.

For example, you may find a criticism of his thoughts through the following link:

-------------------------------
Paul Krugman’s essay “Who Was Milton Friedman?” seriously mischaracterizes Friedman’s economics and his legacy. In this paper we provide a rejoinder to Krugman on these issues. In the course of setting the record straight, we provide a self-contained guide to Milton Friedman’s impact on modern monetary economics and on today’s central banks. We also refute the conclusions that Krugman draws about monetary policy from the experiences of the United States in the 1930s and of Japan in the 1990s.

Full Text - Acrobat PDF (254k)

http://research.stlouisfed.org/wp/more/2007-048/

-------------------------------

Yet, there is a more interesting Japanese blog discussing the nature and the core of Mr. Krugman’s idea.

A smart Japanese blogger wrote there that the largest feat of Mr. Paul Krugman is that he clearly said to other economists: “You give off an evil smell. Realize this foul smell. And let me point at this source of the offensive odor!”

And the blog author thinks that Mr. Paul Krugman believes that the entire economics gives off an evil smell.

Specifically, Mr. Krugman has given a warning against the quantitative relaxation to be adopted as a sole or a major financial policy.

It looks like having worked well in Japan in late 1990’s.

But the fact is, according to the Japanese blog writer, that the most of drastic measures the Japanese Government took then, including quantitative relaxation and zero-interest rates, have resulted in recovery of the Japanese banks but widening gap in income between rich and poor among the Japanese people.

And the ratio of those put into a category of the new poor is far larger than that of those pulled up to a category of the new rich.

However, many Japanese economists claim that the economy has been normalized since the Japanese financial system has been restored to normality.

So, the Japanese blogger concluded that economists are calling the hell Heaven.

In this context, Mr. Paul Krugman has called the hell the hell.

So, he has got the Nobel Prize.

******************************************************

What we have to identify is the Kingdom of God.

It is intangible or more intangible than money and economy.

We may be allowed to call the Kingdom of God a part of Heaven.

And if no Angles call Heaven Heaven for us, we may not realize it just passing by it.

JAPAN OR NORTH KOREA; JAPAN OR CHINA

(Tokyo)

JAPAN OR NORTH KOREA; JAPAN OR CHINA

One of the big news in these three-day holidays (from Oct. 11 to Oct. 13) in Japan is without doubt the decision by the Bush Administration to take North Korea off the so-called terror list.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/12/world/asia/12terror.html?_r=1&scp=2&sq=North%20Korea&st=cse&oref=slogin

It has especially disappointed many families of the Japanese citizens North Korea abducted in these decades for the purpose of abusing them for various espionage activities.

Just 10 minutes prior to the official announcement of the decision from the U.S. State Department, President Mr. George W. Bush reportedly informed Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso by phone of this drastic diplomatic decision.

However, the general mood in Japan is not so shocked by this cool decision.

The Clinton Administration did the similar thing when President Mr. Clinton wanted some diplomatic accomplishment to be recorded in the history when Mr. Clinton’s term of office came to an end.

Besides, President Mr. Bush had made the same decision this summer but abandoned it then.

Accordingly, no matter how conservative or liberal critics in Japan claim that this is apparently the big failure of the Japanese Government, the majority of the Japanese people have received the news without much commotion.

There are some important aspects on North Korea:

1) North Korea can provide materials and components of nuclear bombs for Islamic or anti-America countries in the world through secret tread.

Therefore, if the U.S. should be attacked in the future with a nuclear weapon of whatever sort, it can be most possibly made of North Korea.

2) However, the reason for North Korea’s sales of nuclear materials to Islamic or anti-America countries is mostly to earn money or obtain natural resources in exchange.

It is not based on its resolution to launch the War on America mobilizing other anti-America forces in the world.

3) It is China that has supported North Korea economically, politically, and militarily after WWII.

On the other hand, now China is offering the U.S. with its huge market and dollars it has earned through the international trade supported by Japan and the U.S.

Accordingly, the U.S. regards China as a kind of ally or possible apply.

China also is on the U.S. side, if not actively, in terms of the War on Terror.

Therefore, as long as China can stop North Korea from selling materials of a nuclear weapon to any foreign countries, the U.S. will act as China wishes even if North Korea hides some nuclear weapons inside its military.

In case, the U.S. can ask China to attack North Korea swiftly so as to disable the nuclear capability of North Korea.

Therefore, it is a natural consequence that the U.S. takes North Korea off the so-called terror list as long as China and the U.S. are determined to sustain their quasi-friendly relationship.

The U.S. gives credit to China in terms of North Korea; China gives credit to the U.S. in terms of the dollar.

4) Japan cannot however authorize this U.S.-Chinese relation.

The U.S. and China virtually allow North Korea to keep and restrain Japanese abductees as long as it wants.

This is what cannot be traded with economic interests.

Yet, Japan has no intention to sacrifice any economic and diplomatic relations with the U.S. and China for the sake of this cause, namely, the rescue of Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea the number of which is around 100.

Both the U.S. and China understand that Japan cannot take tough measures on them.

Indeed, Japan cannot sever diplomatic relations with the U.S. and China for the reason that both the countries have virtually decided to allow North Korea to keep and restrain Japanese abductees as long as it wants.

Therefore, this is a logical consequence that selfish, greedy, wild, cruel, and aggressive countries, namely the U.S. and China concerning Wall Street and Tibet for a humble example each, neglects a humble but strong wish of peace-loving Japan to take back its citizens illegally abducted by a rogue country that sells drugs, counterfeit U.S. bills, and sometimes nuclear materials and missile to anti-U.S. countries.

Yet, Japan has achieved this economic success after WWII without a diplomatic relation with North Korea at all. Japan has established a strong relation with China without a diplomatic relation with North Korea at all, though China has betrayed Japan so many times in the past.

Accordingly, to tell the truth, Japan has no need to take North Korea off its error list.

In time, there will be a change in leadership of North Korea. With a focus on the future shift of power in North Korea, Japan will keep the current position without giving any credit to North Korea.

*****************************************************

For the U.S., the most important thing is to prevent the possible use by anti-America terrorists of a nuclear bomb made by North Korea.

For China, the most important thing is to prevent North Korea from becoming pro-Japan.

For Japan, the most important thing is to have a North Korean Government which is completely peace-loving and pro-Japan, if it takes still some years.

Indeed, China and the U.S. might fail eventually.

Truly, Japan will prevail in the whole Korean Peninsula eventually.

Yet, how to exercise its influential power in Beijing and on Wall Street may be an imminent issue and challenge for Japan.

What Shines in the Night and What Hides It

(Why won't any TV station make contribution to this kind of guide-plate based public service in Tokyo?)

What Shines in the Night and What Hides It

One of the big news in these three-day holidays (from Oct. 11 to Oct. 13) in Japan is without doubt the alleged suicide committed by Mr. Kzuyoshi Miura in a cell within Los Angeles Police Department.

-------------------------------
Japanese businessman Kazuyoshi Miura is found dead in jail cell

Reed Saxon / Associated Press

IN CUSTODY: Kazuyoshi Miura, right, accused of arranging the murder of his wife in Los Angeles in the early 1980s, arrives at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday after being extradited from Saipan.

He had just been extradited to Los Angeles to face conspiracy charges in the murder of his wife in 1981. His death is called an apparent suicide.

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-miura12-2008oct12,0,1211729.story

-------------------------------

Mr. Kazuyoshi Miura had an aunt who had been a very popular actress and show-business director in Japan.

Indeed, gangsters seem to be everywhere around the film industry and the entertainment industry, if not inside a prison or on Wall Street.

Anyway, remember Princess Diana and JFK Jr., too.

* * *

Every non-nonsense journalist and pundit in Japan is discussing the future of not only Wall Street but also the United States, in addition to the future value of the U.S. dollar.

Of course, The New York Times is also discussing it, especially recently with some respect for Japan, though caring about cold eyes of anti-Japanese elite in Washington D.C.

-------------------------------
In what could set an important precedent, federal officials assured a big Japanese bank late Sunday that its planned investment in the embattled Wall Street giant Morgan Stanley would be protected, according to people involved in the talks.

After two days of tense negotiations, Treasury officials urged a hesitant Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group to proceed with its $9 billion investment in Morgan Stanley, which has sought the capital infusion to reassure investors and customers about its stability.

Last month, Mitsubishi agreed buy about 21 percent of Morgan Stanley. The investment was to be made in the form of $3 billion in common stock, at $25.35 a share, as well as $6 billion in convertible preferred stock with a 10 percent dividend and a conversion price of $31.25 a share.

Morgan Stanley converted itself into a bank holding company one week after Lehman Brothers collapsed. That business model makes it easier for Morgan Stanley to borrow from the Federal Reserve. The firm has also lowered its debt-to-capital levels to under 20 times.

Mitsubishi has large ambitions for expansion into the United States. It recently bought the remaining shares of UnionBanCal, a bank in California, for a premium over its share price. Mitsubishi had owned the majority of UnionBanCal since 1996.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/13/business/13morgan.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin

-------------------------------

U.S. federal officials also seem to start to show some respect for Japan.

In the recent G7 Meeting, I think that top U.S. elite must realize that they have to honestly cooperate with Japan in order to keep dollar’s dominance or value.

* * *

Last night or early this morning I had two dreams.

In one dream, an African revolutionist was killed by British senior officers. Some of the British upper class were framing a conspiracy in a gorgeous stone building. Anyway, I am not an African.

In another dream, a notable Japanese female politician, still trying hard to build her career in the political community, was taking care of her business so actively. I was just treading after her. Anyway, it was in a dream.

And around the Diet building, I saw only an early-middle-aged Western couple carrying a big suitcase each. Remarkably no foreigners were doing sightseeing around the national assembly building near the Imperial Palace of Japan and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

QUITE A PLACE, DEAR

Now I have checked pictures I took today.

You will see some tomorrow.

I am still preparing some.
