"the God of the living"

Toward Year-End Miracles

An Airbus A330 flying to Detroit Metropolitan Airport from Amsterdam was not blown up in midair. It is one of Christmas miracles.

However, there have been too many incidents of suicide-bomb terrorism in 2009. It is time to hold an international conference to stop suicide terrorism. It is more important than the COP15 meeting to prevent global warming.

To suppress CO2 emission, you only have to put a ceiling and impose limits on total consumption of oil/coal/gas by each country.

To prevent suicide bombings, you have to analyze how Wall Street and City have posed a threat to poor people living in the Islamic world.

American people have to choose Wall Street or God to avoid future suicide bombings to be carried out by some Muslims.

SECTION I: DEVIL'S INVENTION INTEREST

Coins and bills, namely cash, never lose its face value if many, many years pass.

Goods will become degraded as time goes by.

But, interest increases its value along with time progressing.

It is the demand side that is associated with value. It is not the supply side. Needs and supply belong to two different paradigms. Current economics is wrong in dealing with them in the same paradigm only.

And, please note that needs for cars have been ever increasing all over the world as time goes by. These needs are regraded as a source of value, or they may be seen as representing value.

SECTION II: History of The Vatican Europe

What was the Vatican doing when the Roman Empire was going to fall?

Are there any detailed records in the Vatican about situations on this critical period?

If not, isn't it too strange?

And, if there are, why and how the Roman Empire fell should be clearly understood.

----
406: The west frontier of the Roman Empire collapses as waves of Suevi, Alans, and Vandals cross the frozen Rhine near Mainz, and enter Gaul.

407: Constantine III leads many of the Roman military units from Britain to Gaul, occupying Arles (Arelate). This is generally seen as Rome's withdrawal from Britain.

410: Rome sacked by Visigoths

413: St. Augustine, bishop of Hippo begins to write The City of God.
...
476: August 28: Deposition of Romulus Augustulus by Odoacer: traditional date for the Fall of Rome in the West.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5th_century#The_Fall_of_the_Western_Roman_Empire
----

But, The City of God is not a record on status of the collapsing Empire.

Before the vanishing of the Roman Empire, Christianity was already recognized as the official religion of the empire. Accordingly, high-ranking Christians or the Vatican must have freely and fully witnessed incidents to record the status as an evidence of their faith in the turmoil of the era. But what was written was directed to contemporary Roman Christians and not to future observers.

--------
It was written soon after Rome was sacked by the Visigoths in 410. This event left Romans in a deep state of shock, and many saw it as punishment for abandoning their Roman religion. It was in this atmosphere that Augustine set out to provide a consolation of Christianity, writing that, even if the earthly rule of the empire was imperilled, it was the City of God that would ultimately triumph — symbolically, Augustine's eyes were fixed on heaven, a theme repeated in many Christian works of Late Antiquity.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_God_(book)
--------

So, another mystery also arose. Why did not Christianity and the Vatican fall and vanish with the Western Roman Empire around the 5th century?

Now everybody that has been working hard this year in Japan has come in earnest to think how to spend the New Year Holiday, since it is after Xmas that Japanese people have come in earnest to think how to spend the New Year Holiday.

If you live around Tokyo, you may go to a well-trained travel agent nearby, buy one or two air tickets and reserve one or two hotels in New York or Jerusalem, move to Narita Airport immediately if possible, get on a convenient jet plane like a decent corporate employee or employees on a business trip, take half a day on board reading the Holy Book, and land on New York or Jerusalem.

Then, you praise the God in a very appropriate manner at a right location therein to fly back to Japan.

Your faith might contribute some to prevention of terror which otherwise might be carried out with a higher possibility of success.

Yet, I will be busy around Tokyo into January 2010, dear friends; Have the good and last weekend of 2009!

"He that loveth his life shall lose it"

TO MOTHER MARY IN HEAVEN, TOO

December 24, 2009 was a good day for Japan's Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama and U.S. President Mr. Barack Obama, for both cleared the day out of a potential crisis of any sort.

Personally and humbly, I am all right, sirs.

SECTION I: GREAT IS THE LORD

Today, December 25, Japanese people are working as usual all over Japan, since December 25 is not a national holiday at all.

Even so-called Christians in Japan are working with others as usual.

Generally speaking Japanese Christians less drink, less smoke, and less gamble.

However, if you graduate from an elite school of whatever sort in Japan, you are not supposed and expected to become a clergyman or a priest at all.

In Japan, generally speaking, a Christian pastor is not regarded as an institutional elite in the society such as a lawmaker or politician, a lawyer or judge, a medical doctor, a certified public accountant, a professor or scientist, a high-ranking bureaucrat, an elite corporate employee, a successful businessman, a successful entrepreneur manager, a leader of a successful social body (including a notable Buddhist or Shintoism body), a successful critic, a successful sportsmen, a successful artist, a successful TV personality and journalist, and so on.

For example, if you graduate from one of ex-Imperial Universities, such as the University of Tokyo, you are not expected to be a Christian priest, a second-class intellectual profession in Japan, such as a teacher in a primary, middle, or high school without an esteem.

But, most of Protestant priests in Japan are very proud if they have any connection with a Christian church in America. They think that they deserve respect from other Japanese since they have connection with an American Christian church. But, it is just like a Protestant priest in a developing country somewhere in the world.

Yet, Japanese Catholics are more proud. Japanese Catholic clergymen think the Vatican is more authentic than, say, the University of Tokyo or the Japanese Government. And, as they are a member of the Vatican, they think they must be respected as much as elite Japanese are. But, it is just like a Catholic priest in a developing country somewhere in the world.

Nonetheless Japanese Protestant Christians and Catholic Christians are not criminals having more trust in and loyalty to American Christian Churches and the Vatican, respectively (cf. Chinese laws and regulations).

If American Christian Churches and the Vatican come to respect perfectly the God Almighty as He requests, Japanese Christians will surely follow suit.

From a standpoint of an ordinary Japanese, which is I, great is Lord Jesus, since He allowed for introduction of Christianity into the Japanese society and history, so that the Japanese may complement their religious merit, which Buddhism, Confucianism, and Shintoism alone cannot do.

In this context, Japan is critically unique.

It is so, for Japan is the only nation in the world that is based on the Buddhist culture, the Confucius culture, the Shinto culture, and the Western (Christian) culture virtually.

SECTION II: MAN IS BORN TO PRAISE GOD

Animals are not born to praise God.

But, man is born to praise the God.

Buddhism teaches not to harm others; Confucianism teaches not to lose respect to a man; and Shintoism teaches to revere ancestors, which is a subset of the concept of praising the God Almighty.

If somebody harms others, loses respect to a man, and does not revere his ancestors while calling himself a Christian, it proves that religion Christianity is not perfect at all. Otherwise, he is damaging Christianity regardless of his consciousness.

The term "Christian" or "Christianity" must undergo a review someday so as to recommend non use or else, because honor of Lord Jesus might rest upon it to any degree.

SECTION III: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Indus Valley, and Roman Civilizations

Where had the expertise and technical skills ancient Egyptians had gone?

Where had the expertise and technical skills ancient Indus people had gone?

Where had the expertise and technical skills ancient Romans had gone?

Pyramids never contributed to modern science and engineering.

City planning established in the Indus valley never contributed to modern science and engineering.

Civil and military engineering Romans had developed never directly contributed to modern science and engineering.

They had all gone as they were monopolized by specific groups of the elite or confined to their own kingdom.

Even for the Roman Civilization, when its military structure, a main bearer of technology, was destroyed by invaders, its tradition, knowledge, and expertise in technology and management was lost, since Roman legions were a main bearer of technology.

Had not been for the Vatican, Europe should have been even today backward areas or subject to Islamic power.

However, something is different for the Mesopotamia Civilization. It is so, since the Old Testament identifies Mesopotamia as its deepest root.

Accordingly, the deepest root of Christmas is in Mesopotamia as I once discussed regarding the number of days in a year.

*** *** *** ***

There is no such a fool in Japan that does not know what December 25 means.

If somebody said to you that he or she did not know what December 25 meant, you must not judge the person to be a fool.

Rather, the person thinks it is safe to pretend to be a fool, as you look dangerously foolish.

Or, the person is suggesting that you are as foolish as a fool who does not know what December 25 means.

Yet, people know they need somebody to respect as they cannot stand living in an all-out ugly world.

People need to respect Christmas.

(In America, now 3,000 or more homeless teenagers are celebrating Christmas:

"National studies indicate a surprisingly high rate of homelessness among youth. Researchers estimate that between 5 and 7 percent [between 1 million and 1.5 million adolescents] of the general teenage population experiences at least one episode of homelessness each year.

I cannot help but extend "Merry Christmas" to them! But, don't go around. They said the bad moon is rising. Well, it is bound to take your life.

"if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit"

NOW HAPPY, MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU DESERVE

Recently the Policy Board of the Bank of Japan for the first time admitted that Japan is undergoing deflation.

According to a report on their internal discussion, some members of the Policy Board held the people so cheap that they actually said that the BOJ should not publicly tell the truth about the state of the Japanese economy being in deflation.

If economists in BOJ are so foolish and arrogant, how terrible the bias of the FRB members might be.

Anyway, it might be a kind of Xmas present that the Policy Board of the Bank of Japan for the first time admitted that Japan is undergoing deflation, so that BOJ must take necessary steps to cope with deflation, which will surely test their ability, including those foolish and arrogant members of the Policy Board.

(It is said that most of economists have never been taught about deflation in school.)

SECTION I: CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

Everybody is working in Japan on this day called Christmas Eve.

However schools are going to be closed for two weeks, one week before January 1 and another after January 1.

It is so, since January 1 is the holiest day for Japan, though Japanese people nowadays do not celebrate Lunar New Year unlike Chinese.

However, why did the son of God come to live on the earth?

Is it because He wanted to enjoy a happy party or a gorgeous feast with happy people?

Did He come to the world to befriend rich and happy people?

Did He come to the world because everybody is happy on the earth?

Indeed, without making somebody unhappy, you cannot be happy.

Without neglecting unhappy people, you cannot stay happy.

If you help poor people, you will be poor, too.

This simple rule makes people hate and despise one another eventually.

Capitalists never love workers; rich men never love poor men; and lucky guys never save unlucky guys.

Accordingly, the human society would collapse through strife, fights, and war.

So, how to avoid this catastrophic situation is a key to success of civilization.

As mankind could not find solutions for themselves, the son of God came to this world simply to teach mankind how to avoid this catastrophic situation.

His teaching is that if capitalists do not love workers or rich men do not love poor men, the God will destroy the world.

His teaching is that if workers do not love capitalists or poor men do not love rich men, the God will not love workers and poor men in return.

SECTION II: CAPITAL FOR PROFITS

Economists do not truly understand that capital is for more money, though labor is not only for humble money.

Capital is for profits. Labor is mostly related to human dignity.

One million dollars capital is for one dollar return or more.

But, one minute labor is worth invaluable return.

SECTION III: CAPITAL FOR PROFITS (2)

With profits "P", capital input "C," costs and expenses "X", and multiplier "k":

P = k*(C - X)

(Note: if both "C" and "X" are very large, "k" can be also very large.)

However "X" is used to purchase labor force "L" and other facilities and means "F":

X = L + F

P = k*(C - L - F)

So, if your religion tells you that the most important thing in this world is to increase profits as much as possible to any given amount of capital input, you would try to decrease "X," especially "L", as much as possible. You will surely do it, since your religion tells you that you do not need to respect dignity of labor by workers.

Ideally, "L" should be zero and "F" should be zero, though we can assume here that "F" has a fixed value. Then only meaningful diagram is as bellow:

This tells what capitalism is. This is the basic for economics to analyze and understand capitalism, since desire for huge money is universal enough to be adopted in non-nonsense theory.

Capitalists love blindly more and more capital, less and less labor costs, and thus more and more profits.

Capital and profits can increase toward the infinite, but labor costs hit the bottom at zero.

In the eye of a capitalist, there are only a huge number for money but no dignity of workers at all.

But, as capitalists are blinded by desire, they do not truly understand workers are also consumers and clients without whom no profits are possible and thus whom they must respect. Otherwise, they think simply that they can find consumers anywhere in the world if they pay small, little, or no wages to workers in their facilities.

So, economics should evolve to teach capitalists how they should respect workers as they should thank consumers and clients in order to protect human civilization.

To maintain civilization, the balance of profits, capital, wages, and consumer power should be carefully adjusted and upheld, taking away the concept of the infinite capital and profits.

Conversely, capitalism is a religion that recommends desire for the infinite capital and profits by decreasing labor costs in their facilities ultimately to zero while pursuing new consumers all over the world.

Consequently, capitalism destroy the world and themselves eventually.

If one ideology is ultimately harmful to mankind, it must be eradicated.

Now you may start to define new capitalism or modified capitalism that is oriented to an optimum profit level with an ultimate purpose for protecting human dignity and civilization and eradicating bad conventional capitalists.

*** *** ***

I saw recently some signs above my head in the blue sky in the daytime and the dark sky at night.

It is not threatening at all, though somehow extravagant for me so humble on the earth.

If you have less money than I have, you would be surely blessed than I in this Christmas 2009.

(Beethoven No.9 Symphony is widely played in Japan at the year end customarily for some reasons. But, Beethoven No.10 Symphony might match the mood in Christmas No. 2009.

Joh 12:23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

"Jesus the mediator of the new covenant"

(North of Tokyo)

The year 2009 is Jinmu Era 2669 in Japan, according to the Imperial calendar, since Jinmu is the first emperor of Japan who, as legend goes, assumed the throne on a certain year of the calendar.

This is based on the sexagenary cycle of years first formulated in ancient China.

----------
The Chinese sexagenary cycle, also known as Stems-Branches, is a cyclic numeral system of 60 combinations of the two basic cycles, the ten Heavenly Stems and the twelve Earthly Branches.

This traditional Chinese calendrical system is used as a means of numbering days and years, not only in China but also in other East Asian nations like Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. The Sexagenary system is also important in Chinese astrology and Chinese fortune telling.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexagenary_cycle
----------

His Majesty the Emperor is the 125th Emperor of Japan, so that his birthday is celebrated as a national holiday on December 23.

His Imperial Highness of Crown Prince, the Emperor's eldest son, was born on February 23, though his grandfather Showa Emperor of Japan was born on April 29, 1901.

For your reference, Pope Benedictus XVI was born on April 16, 1927; Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom was born on April 21, 1926.

Lord Jesus Christ was born, as legend goes, on December 25, A.D. 1.

SECTION I: CAPITAL & LABOR

A record on the San Francisco's General Strike of 1934:

A record on the Sitdown Strike at GM of 1937:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYjJxstGl7Y&feature=related

Despite the Great Depression that started in 1929 and continued in 1930's all over the world, no revolution occurred in the United States.

Laborers continued to be laborers and capitalists continued to be capitalists eventually.

It is because nobody ordered capitalists to pay wages to all the workers equally, with authority Jesus Christ had had when He ordered to an owner of a vineyard 1900 years ago.

(Success of American workers in 1930's, regardless of its level, put the U.S. more on the justice side than the Empire of Japan during WWII, in my humble view.)

SECTION II: Prophets and Religion

Will any one want to hear a prophecy a servant of the Devil delivers?

--------
In religion, a prophet is a person who has been contacted by, or has encountered, the supernatural or the divine, and serves as an intermediary with humanity, delivering this newfound knowledge from the supernatural entity to other humans...

In the late 20th century the appellation of a 'prophet' has been used to refer to individuals particularly successful at analysis in the field of economics, such as in the derogatory 'prophet of greed'.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophet
--------

The main function of a prophet is thus to protect people, of course, not for any financial profits.

I once read that some Japanese pilots, actually university students mobilized for a kamikaze mission during WWII, played the piano in a classroom of a primary school near their air base secretly on the eve of making a one-way sortie to the Okinawa area from Japan proper, since they loved Beethoven or so so much.

"Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat"

(Rice fields in winter, Japan; click for magnification.)

TIME AND TIME AGAIN AS LONG AS ONE LIVES

In TV coverage recorded in Tokyo yet to be broadcast, Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, the director-general of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan, said that he would accept recommendation to assume the premiership if he is recommended to do so by party members.

When it is broadcast, it will excite political speculation as to how much determined the veteran, powerful lawmaker Mr. Ozawa is to take over from incumbent Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama.

Yet, it depends on how Prime Minister Mr. Hatoyama will come through the budget committee to be started in next January and gain support from swing voters toward the Upper House election scheduled next July.

(Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, a 40-year-long Lower House member, seems to be strongly backed by officials of the Japanese Ministry of Finance and the Chinese Communist Party leaders, though I think it will be Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan that will eventually succeed P.M. Mr. Hatoyama.)

SECTION I: A RICH MAN AND GOD

One night a rich man was convinced that he smartly secured millions or billions of dollars for himself all through a recession.

So, he started to admire and praise himself, since he was convinced that he smartly secured millions or billions of dollars for himself through a recession.

And then, he started to think that he was really special and destined to be different from others as he could buy high-quality houses, clothes, foods, and other goods and services.

Yet, he felt like earning a bit little more money on Wall Street and in City, since he was convinced that he smartly secured millions or billions of dollars for himself all through a recession.

So, with a plenty of new plans and ideas for tomorrow, he went to bed, saying, "Thank you God, I am so lucky!"

Then the God said to the rich man, "How foolish you are! Your life is going to be taken out tonight."

Indeed, the moment when the rich man died that night, he did not have even a bit little of memory of his having enjoyed a high-quality life.

But, people later coming around his bed were just thinking about where his money was stored and hidden, looking so smartly down on him.

SECTION II: History of Bubble Economy

1637: Durch Tulip Mania
At the peak of tulip mania in February 1637, tulip contracts sold for more than 10 times the annual income of a skilled craftsman. It is generally considered the first recorded speculative bubble (or economic bubble)...In February 1637, tulip bulb contract prices collapsed abruptly and the trade of tulips ground to a halt.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_mania

1720: The South Sea Company
Joseph Spence wrote that Lord Radnor reported to him "When Sir Isaac Newton was asked about the continuance of the rising of South Sea stock… He answered 'that he could not calculate the madness of people'."...Newton's niece Catherine Conduitt reported that he "lost twenty thousand pounds. Of this, however, he never much liked to hear…"[9] This was a fortune at the time (equivalent to about £3 million in present day terms[10])...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_South_Sea_Company

1720: French Mississippi Company
1719-21 share price
1719 May: 500 livres
1720 February: 10,000 livres
1721 September: 500 livres

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mississippi_Company

1920-1929: American Economic Bubble
Urbanization reached a climax in the 1920s. For the first time, more Americans and Canadians lived in cities of 2,500 or more people than in small towns or rural areas. However the nation was fascinated with its great metropolitan centers that contained about 15% of the population. New York and Chicago vied in building skyscrapers, and New York pulled ahead with the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building. The finance and insurance industries doubled and tripled in size. The basic pattern of the modern white collar job was set during the late 19th century, but it now became the norm for life in large and medium cities.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roaring_Twenties#Black_Tuesday

Around 1990: Japanese Asset Price Bubble
For example, there is no doubt that technology and new-era thinking played a major role in the Japanese bubble. During the bubble, Japan took over leadership of high technology in the areas of consumer electronics, the automobile industry, manufacturing, and even robotics, and was perceived as a major threat to dominate all technological development around the globe – just as the U.S. is today...
In the wake of the bubble and bust, Japan experienced a long series of corruption scandals, a procession of failed prime ministers, the ousting of financial ministers, the conviction of bureaucrats for corruption, and the breakup of their one-party system. However, the Japanese have failed to truly recognize the cause of their bubble and to liquidate their economic mistakes.

http://www.lewrockwell.com/thornton/thornton24.html

Till 2008:United States Housing and Financial Bubble
Bush's 2004 campaign slogan "the ownership society" indicates the strong preference and societal influence of Americans to own the homes they live in, as opposed to renting.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Causes_of_the_United_States_housing_bubble

However, today, the NYSE Dow Jones Average has returned to the 10,000 level. President Mr. Barack Obama has approached top leaders of China, India, Brazil, and even South Africa even at Copenhagen Conference.

A next possible bubble might include China, India, Brazil, and even South Africa in association with the U.S. if not under the Obama Administration.

"the Gentiles trust"

(Japan: pine trees, zelkova trees, cedars, and a volcano north of the Tokyo Area)

Something Reliable Altogether

Santa Claus is not from Rome, Istanbul, or Jerusalem. He is apparently from the Scandinavian Peninsula or Jutland. But why? Why did the Vatican approve such a legend being revered all over Europe or specifically in the north of the Alps? It must be telling a kind of secret of the Vatican and the European history.

Anyway, the year 2009 has now only one week left exclusively 2009, a year of coping, enduring, and surpassing for President Mr. Barack Obama and Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama of Japan as well as their friends.

SECTION I: Japanese Politicians - Prime Minister

Japan's Prime Minister Mr. Yukio Hatoyama has broken a record, since he travelled overseas seven times in the first three months after his accession to the office of premiership.

In September, he launched a series of diplomacy heading for America to join the U.N. and the G20 Meetings; in October, he flew to Thailand (ASEAN), Korea, and China; in November, he attended the APEC meeting held in Singapore; and in December the prime minister hurried to the Bali Democracy Forum in Indonesia and the Copenhagen Conference, Denmark.

This is very unusual. It is not so desirable basically, though he might be contributing to enhancement of Japanese international presence.

Indeed, while Prime Minister Mr. Hatoyama was flying to America, Asia, and Europe, his domestic approval rating has fallen from 70% to 55%.

(The most possible next prime minister of Japan would be Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan of DPJ in any case of an unpredictable crisis occurring in the Hatoyama Cabinet.)

SECTION II: Japanese Politicians - LDP Members

Former Chief Cabinet Secretary Mr. Ysuhisa Shiozaki complained that the Japan-U.S. relationship could be damaged by the Hatoyama Administration. Lower House member of the LDP Mr. Shiozaki boasts his own international association, including Former Secretary of State Mr. George Shultz, but thinks that mutual trust between the Prime Minister Mr. Hatoyama and President Mr. Barack Obama has vanished, if ever any.

On the other hand, Upper House Member of the former ruling party, the Liberal Democratic Party, Mr. Hiroshige Seko is busy manipulating a cell phone for Twitter communications, discussing how great "The West Wing" is. There seem to be many fans among Mr. Seko's supporters of this American TV drama featuring the White House.

Mr. Shiozaki and Mr. Seko tried this fall to boost up Mr. Taro Kono, an LDP lawmaker, to presidency of the LDP to succeed former Prime Minister Mr. Taro Aso. They failed after challenging big bosses of the party, but Mr. Kono has been busy traveling to Washington D.C. this December. Mr. Kono even visited a balcony of the Russel Bldg. once occupied by Edward Kennedy.

Finally, Ms. Yukari Sato who lost her seat in the Lower House on the 2009-8-30 general election worried about the future of the LDP, especially after the next national election. Qualified economist Ms. Sato seems to be preparing for the next chance to come back to the National Diet, though she appealed in the last election to a constituency in Tokyo that voters should vote for liberalism but not for socialism the Democratic Party of Japan, an incumbent ruling party, aims at actually.

In the early summer of 2010, the next year, the Upper House (House of Councilors) election is to be held in Japan as U.S. State Department officials in charge of Japan must be well aware of.

SECTION III: Miracles by Christmas

It is of course a Pope that decided that December 25 should be celebrated as the birthday of the Lord Jesus Christ, though it was more than 300 years after the death of Jesus Christ.

----------
In 350 A.D. Pope Julius I decreed that from that time forth the 25th of December would be acknowledged as the date of the Nativity. All of Christendom accepted that decree except for the Armenian church. To that denomination, the Nativity is celebrated on January 6 each year. It should be noted that Julius I's decree came only thirty-seven years after Emperor Constantine issued the Edict of Toleration which effectively legalized the Christian religion. Prior to that time anyone who professed the Christian religion were persecuted. In 303 A.D. the Nativity was "celebrated" by Emperor Diocletian by having nearly 20,000 Christians burned to death.

What should be noted is that Xmas was stipulated by the early Vatican during the reign of the Roman Empire.

The New Testament and Xams are two major instruments that connect a Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire to the Roman Civilization, thus providing bases for authority of the Vatican.

----------
Through the Medieval and Dark Ages, roughly between the 5th and 11th Centuries, the Christian and pagan traditions mingled...

Legend tells us that it was on a Christmas day that Merlin, the reknowned magician of Camelot, called together all of the various leaders of the realms of Britain. Merlin announced that on His birthday, the Lord would reveal to them who would be the rightful king to rule over the entire British Isles. The sign which the Lord gave to the assembled feudal lords and knights was a sword embedded in an anvil. Arthur was the only one who could draw the sword from the "stone" and to him was given the title of the first King of England. The epic story, Le Morte d'Arthur, written in the 15th Century by Sir Thomas Malory, was largely responsible for promoting the legend of Arthur as the heroic Briton who defended the Christian Faith against the hordes of Angles and Saxons who invaded the Isles. Despite the legends of Arthur's prowess in battle, the British Isles were indeed invaded by Germanic peoples who brought with them their particular form of Celtic traditions.

As Anglo-Saxons came from the place today called Denmark or so, King Arthur was not Anglo-Saxon. Anglo-Saxons had no tradition to celebrate Xmas. They were Christianized after invading the Great Britain.

As there is an evidence that the Vatican itself diminished to very local religious power after the fall of Rome, Xmas should be reviewed in this historical context.

In my theory, while the Vatican almost gave up hope of recovery from helplessness it had suffered with the fall of Rome losing ancient glory in the darkness of the Dark Ages, those Northern Europeans who accepted Christianity gradually accumulated power and wisdom to establish their own kingdoms so as to respect and revere a Pope still subsisting in the ancient city Rome.

Xmas must have worked as a vehicle for the religion to spread among Northern Europeans who experienced volkerwanderung, since a ritual is always a core of any human community.

Even Anglo-Saxons must have loved Xmas festivity and naturally came to respect the Bible written in Latin.

One of key factors to understanding the Dark Ages, from 500 to 1000, is Christmas.

It is so, since Christmas was so modified to well appeal to Anglo-Saxons and other Northern Europeans, uncultivated tribes before 1000.

Microsoft is a software maker, mainly, of the operating system for PCs.

Oracle is a software maker providing applications for PCs.

Dell is a hardware maker of personal computers.

Google is an Internet service provider specializing in information search.

Bloomberg is a financial information provider based on computers.

So, the first major factor is telecommunications and computing technologies. Wal-Mart and Wall Street hedge funds also highly rely on these technologies.

And thus, you have to well understand history of development of today's telecommunications and computing technologies so as to be a good economist.

The second major factor is, of course, businesses, enterprises, and companies.

Without relying on businesses, enterprises, and companies, no one can be rich. And thus, you have to well understand history of development of today's corporations.

For example, the 9/11 2001 Terror could have been be avoided if America had been able to use more effectively telecommunications and computing technologies and business power.

The 2008 Subprime Loan-triggered Wall Street crisis could have been avoided if America had been able to use more effectively telecommunications and computing technologies and business power.

If you could fully utilize them, most of arguments by today's economists are of no use.

It is so, since no huge debts and deficits, no interest rate problems, and no unemployment problems would become problems at issue.

As for Japan's deflation and other economic problems, one of the major factors is of course China.

No American economists, including Mr. Summers and Mr. Bernanke, have not discussed the influence of China on Japan in the so-called lost decade of Japan.

If China is at the place of Canada or Mexico, America would also suffer deflation and the lost decade.

As such a huge economic potential of China started to rise in 1990's so close to Japan geographically, there must have been a huge influence on Japan in 1990's.

This is the answer to the question on why Japan had to suffer the economic plight in 1990's while China was emerging, which no American economists, including Mr. Summers and Mr. Bernanke, could understand.

It is not because Japanese were fools but Japanese were too smart to help China succeed in 1990's to 2000's.

Anyway, it tells that the third major factor in today's economics is a nation.

But, a nations is conditioned by its history, tradition, culture, religion, etc. which American economists, including Mr. Summers and Mr. Bernanke, could not well understand. Accordingly, they were frustrated so much why Japan could not pull out of the economic plight more efficiently as China was developing so efficiently.

The answer is that as Japan was helping China grow so efficiently Japan itself could not pull out of the economic plight more efficiently.

But, it also tells that Japan thought helping China was better than suppressing China from view points of history, environment, and justice.

Indeed, history, environment, and justice are what American Nobel laureate-class economists cannot well understand.

Or, could any of them tell what China in 1970's should do to be a global economic power in the early 21st century based on their economics theory?

The answer is to recommend the Chinese Communist Party to acquire friends as many as possible from Japan and win favor as much as possible from Japan, which is however what cannot be expressed in their economics formulae.

Truly, no Top 10 rich men in America today have followed economists to be rich and establish influence on the American economy, since "the 10 richest Americans lost a combined $39.2 billion in the past 12 months, a 14% decline."

(In Japan, the song "Mollie Darling" was translated as a song for praising sheer beuty of the winter night sky full of stars so far...though it was composed by an American William Shakespeare Hays (1837-1907) as a love song.
