"When he gave to the sea his decree"

All at the Tokyo Bay in the Summer of 2010

(I sometimes wonder if a Japanese living overseas for so long without visiting Tokyo might be impressed with these pictures...)

Behind the Veil

According to a telephone survey conducted on this Friday and Saturday by Kyodo News Service, support ratings among Japanese voters for the two DJP candidates for the next P.M. of Japan are as follows,
Mr. Naoto Kan: 69.9%
Mr. Ichiro Ozawa: 15.6%

Specifically, the DJP supporters who want Mr. Kan to continue his premiership account for 82.0%.

Notable lawmaker Mr. Taro Kono of the opposition LDP wrote in his twitter entry that it is a big surprise that 15.6% of voters named Mr. Ozawa as desirable next prime minister of Japan.

Remember I will not pick up the phone if a disbeliever calls me.

SECTION I: Election after Election

It began with an alarming exposure of large-scale inappropriate management of pension-fund recordings by the Japanese Government over decades.

It caused an unprecedented fear of losing a right to get a full amount of their pension among tens of millions of Japanese voters, taxpayers, workers, and citizens. The ruling LDP looked also upset so much, though labor unions of public servants that today support the DPJ are apparently responsible, too.

(After a sweeping victory in the 9-11-2005 general election, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi [LDP] however announced that he would spontaneously step down next year. His possible successor Shinzo Abe was expected to enjoy his premiership at least for three years, a time limit till the next general election, and more...)

2007
- February:
Responding to a question from DPJ lawmaker Akira Nagatsuma, the LDP-led Government admits that there are more than 50 million items yet to be correctly filled in the pension fund records the Japanese Government has managed. This number later increases to over 100 millions.

Inevitably, the approval rating for the LDP plummets down.

- May: Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Toshikatsu Matsuoka (LDP) commits a suicide amid fierce attacks from the DPJ, under the leadership of party head Ichiro Ozawa and Director-General Yukio Hatoyama, on his dubious political fund reporting, though an amount of money involved is about five million yen or $60,000 which is minimal compared with a total amount of money involved in alleged cases of Ichiro Ozawa around 400 or 800 million yen.

- July: Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (LDP) faces a drastic defeat in the Upper-House election where the ruling LDP has won only 37 seats while the opposition DPJ 60, which is a great shock to conservative and pro-American LDP members.

- September: P.M. Shinzo Abe steps down due to his illness; Yasuo Fukuda (LDP) is elected as new P.M.

- November: P.M. Fukuda proposes to Ichiro Ozawa establishment of the coalition Cabinet by the LDP and the DPJ. Ozawa agrees to Fukuda's idea, but the DPJ executives are all against it. Losing face, Ozawa disappears for several days from the front stage of politics.

2008
- September:
P.M. Yasuo Fukuda steps down; Taro Aso (LDP) is elected as new P.M.

- September/October: P.M. Taro Aso has been expected to soon dissolve the Lower House and call for the general election, which he cannot due to grave influences of the Lehman Shock.

(If P.M. Aso had dared to launch the election, the DPJ would have probably won, paving the way for premiership of Ichiro Ozawa, since he was head of the DPJ then.)

- November: In America, Senator Barack Obama is elected as new President as he has promoted a change in the American politics, which makes P.M. Taro Aso more reluctant to dissolve the Lower House of the National Diet for a general election.

2009
- January:
Former DPJ Upper-House member Hisayasu Nagata commits a suicide, though he resigned in 2006 from a Diet member, taking responsibility for miring the DPJ due to his groundless accusation of inappropriate relationship between LDP Director General Tsutomu Takebe and IT businessman Takahumi Horie, which led to resignation of the then rising young leader Seiji Maehara from the head of the DPJ, paving the way for Ichiro Ozawa to be elected as new head of the DPJ. When Ozawa was actually elected as head of the DPJ defeating Naoto Kan, he appointed Yukio Hatoyama as Director-General in 2006.

- February: Finance Minister Shoichi Nakagawa (LDP) resigns due to his inappropriate behaviors in the G7 meeting and the Vatican. Accordingly, P.M. Taro Aso appoints Kaoru Yosano (LDP) as successor.

- May: DPJ Head Ichiro Ozawa steps down due to a legal investigation going on about his dubious political fund reporting and an arrest of his secretary. Accordingly, the then Director-General of the party Yukio Hatoyama is elected as head of the DPJ. Hatoyama chooses Katsuya Okada, ex-head of the DPJ before Maehara, as new Director-General of the party.

(If the then DPJ Head Ichiro Ozawa had not resigned, the 30-08-2009 general election might have paved the way for premiership of Ichiro Ozawa, since he was head of the DPJ then.)

- August 30: The long-waited general election is at last held, resulting in regime change with the opposition DPJ (led by Yukio Hatoyama) winning 308 seats and the ruling LDP (led by Taro Aso) 119 seats.

- September: New P.M. Yukio Hatoyama appoints Katsuya Okada as new Foreign Minister and Ichiro Ozawa as new Director-General of the DPJ. Naoto Kan, who founded the DPJ in cooperation with Hatoyama a decade ago, is also appointed to Vice Prime Minister. P.M. Hatoyama is expected to enjoy his premiership at least for four years and more.

- October: Former Finance Minister Shoichi Nakagawa (LDP) abruptly dies of a disease (he failed in reelection in August); he is a hawkish politician in good terms with Former P.M. Shinzo Abe and Taro Aso, thus disappointing many LDP members and their supporters or symbolizing the change in the Japanese political landscape.

In sharp contrast, Nakagawa's rival Muneo Suzuki of the New Party Daichi is appointed to the chairman of the Lower-House foreign committee with strong support from Ichiro Ozawa. However, Muneo Suzuki has been under indictment and on trial in the Supreme Court of Japan for allegedly illegal political money transactions.

2010
- January:
Minister of Finance Hirohisa Fujii, once a close aid for Ozawa, resigns spontaneously weeks after he was rebuked openly by Director-General Ozawa in a governmental meeting with P.M. Hatoyama present for his failure in execution of a certain policy the DPJ promised in the 30-08-2009 election. However, Fujii explains that his resignation is only due to his physical condition since he is in his 70's.

Vice Prime Minister Naoto Kan takes over the office of the Finance Minister, though he is sharply criticized by opposition parties for his lack of knowledge in economics.

- April:
Former Ministry of Finance Kaoru Yosano deserts the LDP and its president Sadakzu Tanigaki who has not appointed Yosano to any key post in the party, launching a new small party. Yosano is said to be in good terms with Ichiro Ozawa, looking for forming a new coalition Cabinet with the DPJ or causing drastic realignment in the Japanese politics.

- June: P.M. Yukio Hatoyama steps down voluntarily due to a too low approval rating, partly ascribed to his own money scandal and the U.S. Marines base issue, before the scheduled Upper-House election. DPJ Director-General Ichiro Ozawa with his own money scandal still entangled also steps down as P.M. Hatoyama so wishes strongly.

- June: Vive Prime Minister & Finance Minister Naoto Kan was elected as head of the DPJ and new prime minister with help from Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada and other anti-Ozawa members.

- July: The DPJ loses the Upper-House election against the LDP; the DPJ wins 44 seats and the LDP 51. The media analyzes that the major factor of DPJ's defeat is P.M. Kan's hasty proposal of raising a consumption tax rate to 10%.

- August: Ex-Head/Ex-Director-General of the DPJ Ichiro Ozawa announces his entry to the party periodic election to choose the new head, which is scheduled on September 14. Despite a speculation that Ozawa cannot undertake a demanding position such as prime minister, 40-years-long lawmaker Ichiro Ozawa decides to challenge P.M. Naoto Kan virtually over premiership, while Former P.M. Yukio Hatoyama has endorsed Ozawa (Both Ozawa and Hatoyama once belonged to the LDP, but Kan has not) as if betraying incumbent P.M. Kan.

The media analyzes that Ichiro Ozawa has requested resignation of some key state ministers and party executives, all anti-Ozawa, because of losing the Upper-House election. But P.M. Naoto Kan, a little younger than Ozawa, refuses it, making the veteran proud politician Ozawa so angry to take a risk of future compelled spin-off from the DPJ.

Since despotic Ichiro Ozawa is still dragging money scandal suspicions, 80% of voters do not want him to assume the premiership of Japan.

SECTION II: Has America Lost the Iraqi War?

The U.S. and President Mr. George W. Bush thought that occupation of Iraq would be successful since the U.S. had successfully occupied Japan after WWII, introducing American democracy.

The U.S. thought the success in Japan was the norm, which is actually not.

The U.S. failed in Vietnam, still believing the success in Japan after WWII was the norm.

The U.S. is failing in Iraq, still believing the success in Japan after WWII is the norm.

This is a predominant opinion among journalists in Japan, a very exceptional nation in the world.

However, since no AlQaeda terrorists and Iraqi insurgents have landed on America to fire and bomb American citizens and cities like in the case of the 9/11 Terror in 2001, the Iraqi War can be regarded as a kind of success.

However, it is one of the worst cases as success in war in the human history.

It is so, since American troops have killed almost 10 Iraqi civilians so as to kill one insurgent.

America has spent $16.4 million to kill one insurgent.

Anyway, it is believed that Mr. Osama bin Laden is not included in 55,000 insurgents killed by US troops and its allies in Iraq since September 11, 2001. In this context, it is a disastrous failure as security operation.

America will have to pay at least a $1 triilion compensation to Iraq where five million orphans are now suffering due to the American failure and transgressions.

One Japanese priest once suggested a kind of gangsters to harass a member in his church, since the priest hated the member so much.

So, a Vatican official might be using a kind of Mafia members to harass a member in its organization, since the official hates the member so much.

So, an American priest might be using a kind of criminal to harass a member in his church, since he hates the member so much.

So, a rabbi might be using a kind of terrorists to harass a member in his synagogue, since he hates the member so much.

Indeed, a kind of gangsters, the Mafia, criminals, and terrorists were hired by enemies of Jesus Christ to harass Him 2000 years ago.

Anyway, a follower of the Son of God with any such a title as priest is himself an insult to the God, since Jesus Christ only calls himself "the son of man," the least title for a man even the poorest can use.

Jesus Christ never tested a man before taking him as a disciple.

But, I cannot help but check a man before taking him for any purpose. So, what do you think about the following proverb?

"A disciple sometimes outshines his master" or "Being produced from a Japanese indigo plant, a blue is bluer than the indigo."

Note: Blue is "Ao" in Japanese. An indigo plant is "Ai" in Japanese.

Once there was a band called "Zuu-Tol-Bee" in Japan. They sang a song titled "Athlete's Foot" which impressed me very much, though they were not another Beatles somewhat.)

Pro 8:27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

Pro 8:28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

Pro 8:29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Pro 8:30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

Pro 8:31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

"even the winds and the sea obey him!"

The Tokyo Bay Surrounded by Tokyo, Chiba, and Kanagawa Prefectures

The Biter is Sometimes Bitten

The last Tokugawa shogun government opened Japan to the world in 1850's, abolishing a 250 years-long closed-door policy.

But, according to Meiji-modernization hero Yukichi Fukuzawa, samurais on the Tokugawa side were against opening Japan to the world at the bottom of their hearts.

Yet, samurais on the emperor's side against the Tokugawas were more against opening holy Japan to the world.

The domestic war between the two camps in 1860's resulted in the victory of the Imperial side. But, those anti-Tokugawa samurais soon changed their policy after forming the Imperial government, adopting the opening-the-door policy.

Yukichi Fukuzawa wrote 30 years after this Meiji Restoration of the imperial authority that Tokugawa samurais had been foolish but Imperial samurais had been more foolish, which might be why Fukuzawa never joined the Meiji Government.

Former P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama reportedly took his position on Mr. Ichiro Ozawa's side from a concern that Mr. Ozawa would desert the DPJ if he cannot take over P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan.

But, Mr. Hatoyama might be accelerating demise of the DPJ, though he might be thinking that he is a hero saving the DPJ by supporting Mr. Ozawa in the coming periodic party election to choose the new head of the party, namely the new prime minister of Japan.

SECTION I: The DPJ vs The LDP

The world second largest and advanced economy Japan was administered by LDP Cabinets for half a century almost without interruption till last September.

The world second largest and advanced economy Japan is now administered by a DPJ Cabinet led by P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan since this June.

Yet, it is just a natural consequence of a series of events since the then very popular P.M. Mr. Junichiro Koizumi (LDP) spontaneously stepped down from premiership to provide a chance for his young successor Mr. Shinzo Abe in 2006.

http://www.esri.go.jp/jp/forum1/100706/gijishidai43_1_2.pdf

It is one year from the start of the Abe Cabinet in 2006 to the Upper-House election in 2007 that brought about a drastic change in approval ratings for the two major parties in Japan, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Democratic Party of Japan.

In this period, the LDP lost the lead and superiority over the DPJ being led by the then party head Mr. Ichiro Ozawa.

Indeed, one big startling thing happened: An exposure of administrative omission in pension fund management over decades affecting randomly millions of Japanese workers. Accordingly, one hundred million voters in Japan got shocked and then angry, though not violently, at the conservative LDP-led government, since any of them could be the one forced to receive no pensions or far less pensions than they were entitled to.

It is Mr. Akira Nagatsuma (presently a state minister in charge of pension fund management) that first made this quasi-criminal fact widely known to the public. Mr. Nagatsuma, a rising DPJ lawmaker, became a hero of the time. However, the then party head of the DPJ Mr. Ichiro Ozawa did not back or praise Mr. Nagatsuma at all, very strangely.

Accordingly, the ruling party LDP lost confidence. The then P.M. Mr. Abe lost the 2007 Upper-House election. The political tide drastically changed. This trend has become the underlying condition in the Japanese political domain to date.

Since 2007 or after the exposure of the large-scale governmental omission of pension funds, the DPJ has enjoyed the status as the most supported political party in Japan.

But, there were two exceptional periods when a major scandal rocked the DPJ, respectively: the Ozawa political fund scandal and the DPJ crisis in 2008; and the Hatoyama political fund scandal and the DPJ crisis in 2010.

In the crisis of the DPJ in May 2008, the then head of the party Mr. Ichiro Ozawa stepped down to be take over by Mr. Hatoyama.

In other crisis of the DPJ in June 2010, the then head of the party and P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama stepped down to be take over by Mr. Kan.

In each case, after the resignation of the top leader in question, the approval rating for the DPJ was fully recovered.

But, now, Mr. Ozawa and Mr. Haroyama have tied up with each other to drive out P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan from the head of the party and premiership. The reason seems to be Mr. Kan's lack of respect for senior Mr. Ozawa who still faces a possibility of prosecution for his (suspected) illegal political-fund reporting.

A result of the 9/14 party election to choose a new head of the DPJ will highly influence the approval rating of the DPJ, since P.M. Mr. Kan and Lower-House member Mr. Ozawa (with support from Mr. Hatoyama) are going to contest.

In summary, Japanese voters are still in the aftermath of the shock of the exposure of the large-scale omission of pension-fund management in 2007. Accordingly, the LDP is yet to fully recover trust of voters. But, the DPJ might lose more trust if they choose a wrong politician as their head and the next premier in this difficult time of Japan and the world.

SECTION II: Who Support Mr. Ozawa (an autocratic Japanese)?

Who support Mr. Ozawa in the DPJ election campaign?

Those who hate America and want to abolish the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty but misunderstand the Mr. Ozawa is a hero who has been fighting America, in the so called liberal/socialistic camp.

And, those, in the so called conservative/traditional camp, who expect that Mr. Ozawa assumes office of premiership against opposition from a majority of voters, so that the possible Ozawa Cabinet will come to a deadlock, leading to an early general election. They also misunderstand the global and domestic situations that will not allow for such a strategy.

But, more fatal is the misunderstanding that 40-years-long Lower-House member Mr. Ozawa is a hero who has been fighting America for decades.

As Mr. Ozawa has had a kind of support from some part of the American Government and politicians, he can survive to date without damages such as Kakuei Tanaka, Shin Kanamaru, and Noboru Takeshita had to suffer.

Mr. Ichiro Ozawa is not an enemy of America but a kind of old friend, which his supporters in the leftist/socialistic camps do not understand.

Incidentally, it is well known that he likes the U.K., which tells he also likes the U.S.

Though Mr. Ozawa does not look like a spy working for the Chinese Communist Party or the U.S. CIA, he has never taken a stance to defend Japan from the Chinese Communist Party or the U.S. CIA.

Anyway, Mr. Ichiro Ozawa has neglected lawmaker's duty of accountability for so long, he cannot be qualified for the entry to a contest to elect Japan's prime minister, though even foreigners, mostly Korean and Chinese residents in Japan, are allowed to join and vote in the DPJ party election, against the principle of the Japanese Constitution.

Anyway, some supporters for Mr. Ichiro Ozawa have to follow him no matter who and what Mr. Ozawa is, since they have made a sworn enemy out of old, traditional, and conservative LDP politicians, including ex-P.M. Mr. Junichiro Koizumi.

Incidentally, Prime Minsiter Mr. Naoto Kan is just an ex-anti-Vietnam War student of 40 years ago, nothing more and nothing less.

It is said that it will take four months to rescue all the 33 workers trapped in a copper mine of Chile.

I urge the Pope to fly to Chile and give them a boost in morale and faith.

The Chile authority should send parts of disassembled PCs to them (smaller than 3 or 4 inches in the diameter), which can be easily assembled and connected to the Internet.

They have to also send, into the space 700 meters under the ground, parts and components of other disassembled machine, such as very compact air conditioners and various tools.

It is easy to make a tunnel horizontally. A modern tunnel boring machine made in Japan can bore a tunnel for 20 meters (7 feet) per day. So, if it can start from 1,000 m far on the same level above or below the ground as the collapsed mine shaft, it can reach the space where the miners are trapped within two months. Combination of vertical shafts and horizontal tunnels must be efficient.

Mat 8:27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Mat 8:28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

"Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them"

Tokyo Bay with O-Daiba Center and The Tokyo Tree Tower Now 1200 Feet High, Miles Away Under What Mask Yukichi Fukuzawa, a great educator and author and also an ex-samurai, wrote more than a century ago that he despised bureaucrats, though after the fall of the last samurai regime in 1868 many people advised him to take a higher position he deserved in the Westernized Meiji Government. If the government is regarded as precious and noble, those who work in the government are regarded naturally as precious and noble. If one thinks of himself being precious and noble, he starts to swagger. This attitude is just a bluff. The chain of order in public office is maintained with this bluff. Even the top bureaucrat is obliged to practice this bluff. That is why Yukichi Fukuzawa never wished to be in the service of the Imperial Government in Tokyo. The point at issue is that all the national lawmakers today pretend to be humble before a TV camera or a video camera in Japan, but some of them look like swashbucklers under their masks a type of which Meiji hero Fukuzawa despised. SECTION I: Tokyo State of Foreign Exchange and Stock Market http://economist.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2010/08/post-e184.html During the term of the Hatoyama Cabinet between September 2009 to June 2010, the exchange rate of the yen against the dollar gradually went up. But, the Nikkei Stock Average fell down rapidly. Under the Kan Cabinet that started in June 2010, the exchange rate of the yen against the dollar rapidly went up. But, the Nikkei Stock Average fell down gradually. It is a kind of asymmetry. Former P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama is highly appraised overseas but not so domestically, while incumbent P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan is highly appraised domestically but not so abroad. Anyway, according to a Japanese economist, the export momentum of Japan is now clearly going down. He thinks it will be testing time for the ruling DPJ in terms of its ability to guide the Japanese economy. In my feeling, under the possible Ozawa Cabinet, both the yen-dollar exchange rate and the Tokyo Stock Exchange index will suffer more disadvantageous situations for Japanese voters, consumers, taxpayers, and citizens. However, though Mr. Ichiro Ozawa announced this morning his entry into the DPJ election to choose a new head, no significant fluctuation has been observed in the Tokyo market. SECTION II: Ichiro Ozawa, Challenger to P.M. Naoto Kan Mr. Ozawa decided this morning to challenge P.M. Mr. Kan in the coming party convention scheduled on September 14. Though Mr. Ozawa has 40-years-long career as national politician of Japan, he only once took up a position of a state minister, specifically, 25 years ago. His recent relationship with China is unusually intimate. But, once he was opposed to a China's stance against Japan in terms of security. ------------------ (Nuclear Control Institute, April 2002) A Japanese Nuke: No Longer Unthinkable China's military push has at least one Tokyo leader speaking openly of entering an arms race, perhaps even developing nuclear capability Something surreal happened over the weekend on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. During an Apr. 6 speech, a leading Japanese opposition leader warned Beijing -- publicly -- that if it keeps up its over-the-top defense buildup, Japan would have no choice but to launch a nuclear-weapons program of its own. And then came this in-your-face kicker: Japan "will never be beaten in terms of military power." This didn't come from some fringe right-winger. The words were spoken by former Liberal Democratic Party heavyweight Ichiro Ozawa, who now runs the tiny opposition Liberal Party, which is big on promoting economic reform and stronger national security. ...His 1994 political manifesto, Blueprint For A New Japan, called for a more proactive foreign policy that would enable Japan to break out of its post-war passivity. This was bold stuff at the time. Even the CIA thought it worthy of translation before the English version was published. And foreign-policy bigwigs such as former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger sang its praises. ...But it's refreshing to hear a Japanese leader speak in very stark terms about the country's national-security interests. Coming from a small opposition party, Ozawa probably will never be Prime Minister. But give him this much: He's publicly airing a very sensitive subject. The reality is that Japan lives in an increasingly dangerous neighborhood, and confronting that reality is far healthier than ignoring it. http://www.nci.org/02NCI/04/japan-articles.htm ------------------ Eight years after the release of the above article, veteran Lower-House member Mr. Ozawa is now determined to finally seek the office of premiership of Japan, running for the DPJ party election to choose the next sole candidate for the prime minister. The only rival seems to be the incumbent Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan (who is also the incumbent head of the DPJ). Eight years after the release of the above article, Mr. Ozawa looks extremely friendly to leaders in Beijing, since he visited it last year leading 140 or so national lawmakers of the DPJ. Eight years after the release of the above article, three secretaries of Mr. Ozawa were arrested and prosecuted for illegal political fund reporting. Mr. Ozawa himself faces a possibility of indictment. Eight years after the release of the above article, Mr. Ozawa might regain support from CIA and some influential American politicians, since liberal politician Mr. Naoto Kan has formed his Cabinet with some socialistic ministers. America and China might come to think that Mr. Ozawa has more merit for them than Mr. Kan. Yet, some Japanese supporters for Mr. Ozawa are now accusing P.M. Mr. Kan of his concessional stance to America, since most of critics, journalists, and politicians who support and praise Mr. Ozawa are pro-Chinese, anti-American, anti-Wall Street, anti-LDP (the conservative opposition party), and anti-Former P.M. Mr. Junichiro Koizumi (of the LDP). So, most of them misunderstand Mr. Ozawa. But, if Mr. Ozawa suggests them that it is time to follow America but not only China, most of them will probably follow Mr. Ozawa stopping blaming American capitalism and militarism, since there is no other way for them to take but follow Mr. Ozawa. To make sure, those who want continuation of the Kan Cabinet account for 60% of Japanese voters; those who do not want realization of the Ozawa Cabinet account for 80% of Japanese voters, though Former P.M. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama declared this morning that he would fully support Mr. Ozawa, since it was Mr. Hatoyama who invited Mr. Ozawa to join the DPJ around 2003. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-08-25/ozawa-says-he-will-challenge-kan-in-president-party-election-next-month.html *** *** *** *** There is one unsolved question in the human history: Why and how did the Indus Valley Civilization collapse in B.C. 1500? It might be due to floods. If the scale of the floods Pakistanis today are suffering had occurred many times in a few years around B.C. 1500, people would surely leave the Indus Valley. As for Japan, a big high-pressure area on the Pacific Ocean has advanced to the north and near the Japanese islands this year. It covers the most part of Japan. So, this summer is so hot as any old man could not recall a similar summer in the past. But why is the big high-pressure area situated on Japan? It is because a wide high-temperature sea water area has concentrated near the Philippine islands and the New Guinea Island. And, in succession, it is because a wide cold-temperature seawater area has concentrated off Peru (La Nina). In summary, a hypothesis is possible that cooling power in the Antarctic area gets stronger, leading to the emergence of a big cold sea area off Peru (La Nina) and then the emergence of a huge hot sea area near the Philippine islands and the New Guinea Island, and finally the big high-pressure area being situated on Japan. Indeed, this year can be very exceptional, since Japan is going to have the third prime minister of the year, if P.M. Mr. Naoto Kan should lose the coming election to chose the new head of the ruling party DPJ. (F.Y.I. In 1993, Japan had three prime ministers: Mr. Morihiro Hosokawa, Mr. Tsutomu Hata, and Mr. Tomiichi Murayama, after a tricky regime change in 1992.) Joh 8:25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. Joh 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. Joh 8:27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

Make a Pencil If Not a Skyscraper for American Dream

Hitler was unemployed after WWI.

His old boss in the army wanted to help him get to work. So he provided Hitler with a job, a spy to monitor socialists.

Hitler sneaked into a meeting of a socialistic party to listen to what they talked about. Eventually, Hitler became a regular member of the party, since he was so much impressed by their passion.

In the Clinton era of America, some young people sneaked into Wall Street to see what sinful things they were doing there, since the story about American Dream realized in Wall Street was so extravagant. However, eventually, they ended up as anti-Christ Wall Street workers, since they were impressed by money so huge in digits.

One thing common between Hitler and those Wall Street workers is their contempt for labor in a factory or plant.

Jesus Christ was a carpenter, making some timber products. His followers of today must work in a factory or plant or at least have such an experience, so as not to be a Hitler or an anti-Christ Wall Street worker.

SECTION III: Japan Protects USA from Communists

http://www.ustreas.gov/tic/mfh.txt

Chinese agents must have convinced Mr. Summers and the like that the Chinese Communist Party protects America from the Empire of Japan.

SECTION IV: U.S. Manufacturing Jobs - Not So Bad!

There are 1,452 thousand workers in the Californian manufacturing sector.

There are 932 thousand workers in the Texas manufacturing sector.

There are 544 thousand workers in the New York manufacturing sector.

There are 596 thousand workers in the Michigan manufacturing sector.

http://www.savingusmanufacturing.com/excerpt.php

There are 363 thousand workers in the Tokyo Prefecture manufacturing sector.

There are 432 thousand workers in the Saitama Prefecture manufacturing sector.

There are 987 thousand workers in the Aichi Prefecture manufacturing sector.

There are 527 thousand workers in the Osaka Prefecture manufacturing sector.

(Definition of the manufacturing sector might be a little different between Japan and the U.S....)

The total area of New York, Michigan, Texas, and California states is 1,511,384 km2.
The total number of manufacturing sector workers in these states is 3,524 thousands.
The over-all manufacturing worker density in the four states combined is 2.3 workers per square kilometers.

The total area of Tokyo, Saitama, Aichi, and Osaka prefectures is 13,559 km2.
The total number of manufacturing sector workers in these prefectures is 2,309 thousands.
The over-all manufacturing worker density in the four prefectures combined is 170.3 workers per square kilometers.

In summary, in a space where only two workers are working in the U.S., 170 workers are working in Japan.

Japan has had to build factories and plants in America and China in order to protect the nature and human mental health.

Note: 1 km2 = 0.3863 square miles.

Economists are now worried that the American economy would sink into a double-dip recession and then to deflation.

Indeed, something extraordinary can happen in the U.S. and China.

Japan is now experiencing, though moderately, an unusual situation with a progression of rising in value of the yen while Tokyo Stock Exchange is in a slump.

One hidden factor is that economists and bureaucrats in Europe and America have now more accurate data about China and the Chinese economy.

One thing sure is that the Davos Forum and the U.S.-China G2 Dream belong to a domain of a fool's paradise rather than a wise men's workshop.

Be a wise man in a factory rather than a fool on Wall Street or in City!

"rebuked the wind and the raging of the water"

Land of Happiness

Some Japanese really want to go and live in America till their death.

Some Japanese really want to go and live in Sweden till their death.

Some Japanese really want to go and live in Australia till their death.

And, some Japanese really want to go and live in France till their death.

You will soon know why...

SECTION I: State of Unemployment in the States

A Japanese blogger analyzed the state of unemployment in the United States.

He concluded that the state of employment is America hit the peak around 2000.

The boom in the financial sector in 2000's did not improve the employment situation in America. The peak of employment in New York was in 1988.

Even those blessed states listed in the table are going into the worst phase sooner or later as seen in 1983.

SECTION II: State of Forecasting by FRB

Another Japanese blogger analyzed the state of forecasting by FRB.

He concluded that FRB considers that a higher unemployment rate and a lower inflation rate will continue for years in the U.S.

But, he is puzzled why FRB thinks that the core inflation rate will increase but not decrease, since a higher unemployment rate leads to a lower inflation rate.

First, too much reliance on the financial sector, computerized so much, has finally resulted in higher unemployment while American consumers have limited credit allowance nowadays.

So, it is natural that Americans will buy less and less, so that deflation might begin.

The blogger thinks that FRB has not taken effective measures while deflation is coming closer.

Yet, FRB seems to push decline in the value of the dollar against the yen. Or, the Obama Administration thinks that one of effective ways to increase employment in America is to facilitate export from America. Accordingly, they do not try to stop the decline of the dollar.

SECTION III: State of Individual Material Welfare

III-1. GDP per Person/Average Life

The EEE-Repoter has calculated how much a person can spend for each year till his/her death from his/her share of GDP per capita in his/her nation.

The EEE-Reporter has concluded that a nation has to have a larger GDP and also a longer average life expectancy. Specifically, a nation has to allow a citizen to spend as much as possible in each year of his/her life time. The longer the average life becomes, the bigger GDP per person must be. However, this is just concerned with material welfare, not spiritual welfare.

So, an America can use $597 per year while he or she lives in this world, if he or she is given his/her share of GDP of America as one time payment.

So, a Japanese can use $489 per year while he or she lives in this world, if he or she is given his/her share of GDP of Japan as one time payment.

Surprisingly, America is still No.1 in this context among major nations.

(http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%9B%BD%E3%81%AE%E5%9B%BD%E5%86%85%E7%B7%8F%E7%94%9F%E7%94%A3%E9%A0%86%E3%83%AA%E3%82%B9%E3%83%88_(%E4%B8%80%E4%BA%BA%E5%BD%93%E3%82%8A%E7%82%BA%E6%9B%BF%E3%83%AC%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88)

http://www2.ttcn.ne.jp/honkawa/1620.html)

You may call this the "EEE-IMF Index," since it represents Individual Material Welfare.

III-2. GDP per Person X Average Life

However, if a citizen of a nation is given his/her share of GDP, namely GDP per person, in each year during his life time, a total of his allowance in each nation is as follows:

So, an America can use total $3.623 million during his/her life time, if he or she is given his/her share of GDP of America every year as long as he/she lives.

So, a Japanese can use total $3.315 million during his/her life time, if he or she is given his/her share of GDP of Japan every year as long as he/she lives.

Surprisingly, America is still No.1 in this context among major nations.

In advanced nations, a person may be entitled to enjoy life worth $3 million as a total all through his life.

You may call this the "EEE-IMF Index," since it represents Individual Material Welfare, too.

The relationships between the exchange rate of the yen vs. the dollar, the stock levels of NYSE and TSE, and interest rate operation by FRB and the Bank of Japan cannot be numerically formulated and predicted by any economics and economists. That is why today one dollar is exchanged with 83 to 84 yen, though around 120 yen a few years ago.

The Bank of Japan fiddles, while the yen continues to advance

The Bank of Japan (BoJ) kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 0.1 percent, while maintaining the current 1.8-trillion yen size of its lending credit programs, despite an ever-strengthening yen currency that threatens to derail the country's fragile nascent economic recovery...

Moreover, any movement towards policy easing by the U.S. Federal Reserve later today would likely place more upward pressure upon the yen.

BoJ Governor Masaaki Shirakawa defended the central bank's lack of movement, citing that the nation’s recovery has been "resilient" to the yen's advance and that it was too early to enact any policy changes.

-------------------

I do not think that Mr. Ichiro Ozawa can address this issue more skillfully than Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan.

It is because P.M. Mr. Kan can concentrate on this issue but Mr. Ozawa will not, since he has more complicated personal problems than Mr. Kan has.

P.M. Mr. Kan must fire BOJ Governor Mr. Shirakawa if he should not take any drastic measures sooner or later to defend the Japanese economy.

P.M. Mr. Kan must fire Minister of Finance Mr. Noda if he should not take any drastic measures sooner or later to defend the Japanese economy.

P.M. Mr. Kan must say to Mr. Ozawa that it is not time for an internal fight within the ruling party.

Luk 8:22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

Luk 8:23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

Luk 8:24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

Luk 8:25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

"his disciples followed him"

(A TV station building on the Tokyo Bay)

Symbol of Dictatorship

A Japanese professor once lived near a tall TV tower in East Berlin just after the unification of the two Germanies in 1991. He now thinks that that TV tower was a symbol of false prosperity of East Germany under dictatorship.

Now, in Tokyo, the 634-meters high Tokyo Tree Tower is under construction. This new symbol of Tokyo reminds him of the Fernsehturm (TV tower) in East Berlin.

SECTION I: Korea Annexed to The Empire of Japan

It is true that during the annexation period between 1910 and 1945 Korean people sometimes violently protested against the Japanese authority as they had done against the authority of the Kingdom of Korea and the Empire of Korea.

But, such insurgency did not upturn the state of annexation for 36 years at all. But, why?

It should have been impossible for the Empire of Japan to maintain the annexation for 36 years if Korean people had been really engaged in independence war, guerrilla war, or terror against the Empire of Japan.

Koreans could have even obtained support from China, Russia, and even America if they had been in real fighting against the Empire. But, in general, Korean people accepted the annexation arranged legally and effectively between the Empire of Korea and the Empire of Japan.

So, in terms of the relatively very peaceful and stable state of annexation, we might say that there were no significant protests against the annexation to the Empire of Japan. Indeed, it is impossible for the annexation to continue for 36 years, if Korean people had fought like Japanese in the battle of Okinawa, like Indians under Gandhi, like Vietnamese in the era of the Vietnam War, or like Afghans of today.

Koreans had been governed by kings, politicians, and leaders far worse than Japanese before the annexation to the Empire of Japan.

Those Korean leaders did not even teach how to read and write to Korean people. Even Hangul or the Korean characters were taught to Korean citizens by Japanese teachers after the annexation. Korean people worked peacefully in many factories and plants Japanese businessmen built during the annexation in Korea. New rice farming skills were introduced to Korea by Japanese, resulting in an increase in Korean population. Many Korean elites learnt in higher institutes of education in the Empire of Japan, so that some Koreans became officers and generals of the Imperial Army.

It was mostly only during WWII that some Korean people were forced to work for the defence of the Empire of Japan under extreme conditions.

But, in general, during the period (1910-1945) of the annexation to the Empire of Japan, Korean people received modern education, training, and infrastructures from the Empire of Japan the Kingdom of Korea and the Empire Korea could not realize and provide for Korean people, since Korea had been strongly hierarchical society where ordinary Koreans were neglected by upper classes.

Accordingly, no such guerrilla war and terror had occurred in the Korean Peninsula in a strategically continued manner and a systematic manner as might have lasted for more than three months in this period of 36 years. Compared with the battle of Okinawa in WWII, the Gandhi's insurgency, the Vietnam War, and the Afghan War, no guerrilla war and terror had occurred in Korea in this period of 36 years of the annexation, except sporadic assassination attempts and minor strife.

But, it does not mean that Koreans were coward, but Japanese gave so much to Koreans to boost the economy of Korea, since Korea was then part of the Empire of Japan.

In summary, as kings and politicians in Korea in the late 19th century failed in modernization and Westernization, Korean people had to belong to the Empire of Japan that succeeded in modernization and Westernization to defeat China to whom the Kingdom of Korea nominally or technically belonged.

(That is why the Empire of Japan helped Korea become an empire so as to severe the tie with China and stand against the Russian Empire.)

If Koreans today identify themselves with Korean noble men before 1910, it is no wonder they continue to request apologize from Japan for the annexation.

But, if Koreans today identify themselves with poor or ordinary Koreans before 1910, it is no wonder they respect Japan, if inwardly or secretly, for the annexation.

To make doubly sure, it was not like colonization of African and Asian regions by Europeans, so cruel and anti-Christ.

The annexation had a historical aspect of delivery of poor Koreans from servile position to rotten regal government of Korea in the 19th to the early 20th century.

The annexation had a historical aspect of delivery of poor Korea from servile position to rotten imperial government of China in the 19th to the early 20th century.

And above all, resultant deployment of strong Army of the Empire of Japan from the Korean Peninsula to Manchuria prevented invasion of the Russian Empire in the 20th century whose cruelty could be even observed today in peripheral regions where native people spoke Russians or use Russian characters without resistance.

SECTION II: Pro-Chinese/Korean Ichiro Ozawa: Next PM of Japan?

As his mentor former P.M. Kakuei Tanaka despised high-ranking bureaucrats of the Japanese government, lawmaker Mr. Ichiro Ozawa also challenged the community of elite bureaucrats.

Though the Empire of Japan fell and disappeared with the Imperial Navy/Army, imperial bureaucrats have remained.

So, it is reasonable that politicians like Kakuei Tanaka and Ichiro Ozawa do not respect elite bureaucrats most of whom graduated from the Faculty of Law, the University of Tokyo, since those public officials despise politicians such as Kakuei Tanaka and Ichiro Ozawa who do not rely on their academic backgrounds but mostly on money.

But, for leaders of the Chinese Communist Party, it is easier to insinuate themselves into Japanese politicians such as Kakuei Tanaka and Ichiro Ozawa than into imperial bureaucrats.

-----------------------
A Conversation with Ichiro Ozawa

By Michael Elliott and Coco Masters / Tokyo Friday, Mar. 13, 2009

TIME: We've seen what U.S. President Barack Obama's administration has done in his first 100 days. If the DPJ takes power in the next general election, what can we expect?

Ozawa: ...However, more important is that we have to make fundamental reform in the current government system, in which the government is led primarily by the bureaucracy. We have to replace this with a system in which the politicians take the lead to formulate the policies, make decisions on policies and execute those policies. The current government is totally dependent on and controlled by the bureaucracy. For that very reason, in difficult times like these, even when politicians in the ruling camp want to make changes, they have nothing to do.

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1885041-1,00.html
-----------------------

Lawmaker Mr. Ichiro Ozawa, essentially a conservative and old-fashioned politician, reportedly instructed, after the regime change through the 30-08-2009 general election, newly elected Lower-House members of the DPJ to be more engaged in campaigns on the street for the next election without spending time and energy in political and legislative activities and discussions in the parliament.

Those newly elected Lower-House members of the DPJ, the number of which is about 140, were ordered virtually to behave like a fool whose profession is an endless election campaign on the street by party leader Mr. Ichiro Ozawa who is fighting against smart elite bureaucrats of the Japanese Government. Mr. Ozawa wants not only to make a boast of the number of his followers to elite bureaucrats, the media, and Chinese/Korean leaders, but also to protect himself by as many as privileged Diet members (but not by real reputation and performance).

If 140 Japanese lawmakers become so foolish and degraded without learning politics, laws, and administration but only election campaign skills, anti-Japanese politicians in China and South/North Koreas would be so satisfied.

Before running for the 9/14 party election to choose a new head of the DPJ (the current head is Prime Minister Mr. Naoto Kan), 40-years-long lawmaker Mr. Ozawa should make it clear how much Chinese leaders and Korean leaders have come to respect Japan due to his efforts.

If Mr. Ichiro Ozawa can make Chinese leaders and Korean leaders apologize to Japan for their decades-long anti-Japanese behaviors, Japanese voters might support Mr. Ozawa as prime minister of Japan.

*** *** *** ***

A big concern about one of the most influential politicians in Japan Mr. Ichiro Ozawa is that he looks like liking to take an authoritarian stance or adopt dictatorial rule as observed in the past year and before.

Though he is an essentially conservative politician, he does not look like appreciating value of traditional culture and customs of Japan. He actually conflicted with the Imperial Household Agency regarding a schedule of the Emperor late last year.

Mr. Ozawa cannot be a Kim Jong-il in the democratic nation Japan. But, if he still likes a kind of dictatorship, he can harm some part of the Japanese society.

Yet, as he has abundant political funds and various sources of funds, he has helped some or many young politicians win election in these years. So, there is a chance that he can win the coming party election to be held for choosing its new head, if he runs for it.

So, if he should seek election to defeat P.M. Mr. Kan, it will become a great test for members of the DPJ as to how much they are sound politically rejecting possible dictatorship.

My advice to Mr. Ichiro Ozawa is not to run for the 9/14 party election, but help younger politicians come forward as candidates for the next party head, namely the next prime minister of Japan.

Even Former P.M. Mr. Junichiro Koizumi had run for an LDP party election to select its president a few times before the final one when he was surprisingly elected in 2001, with help from Lower-House member Mrs. Makiko Tanaka, the daughter of Former P.M. Kakuei Tanaka.
